Was checking out my home network activity and devices on my WiFi, and I found a device connected that is identifying itself as a BITMAIN Antminer L3+, which until I googled it, had no idea what that was.
Apparently it's made by Texas Instruments and is just that, a Bitcoin miner PC.

Upon further inspection , I matched the MAC and IP address to that of my FCSP!

This is very odd IMO..I have seen network scanners pull up wrong names, but those is within my Routers UI (UniFi).

Has anyone seen this before, or maybe it's just an anomaly here on my network?

It would be a sneaky way to make some $ for FoMoCo though!

What application on your phone is associating the device with a mining device? Most likely some other mining device out there in the world has a similar MAC and some cloud service i matching it.
The UniFi App, as well as my Unifi account viewed on my web portal.

This used to be a very common bug with UniFi operating system, although it has become more accurate over time. Ubiquiti used to label my Tesla as a washing machine.
Yes I used to see this with printers being called Apple TVs but that was on my old network, hadn't seen this on the newer UniFi network. Thanks for the reply.

You think FORD has figured out how to use your FCSP for bit mining? They can't even figure out OTA or software
or is it so bad that they have left doors open so that some entity can exploit the device. There are so many devices with poorly written software that are able to be used for nefarious reasons.

I would say "don't give them any ideas" but since lots of functionality is being lost and replaced only by Karoke, I would doubt Ford has the chops to pull something like this off. Probably would make more money then selling vehicles though.

The MAC address of my FCSP begins with f4:b8: Perhaps the WIFI chip was second sourced, but I’ll add a +1 to the other posts.

If you're genuinely concerned, you could get yourself a nice free network protocol analyzer like Wireshark and analyze the packets going to and from that IP - that would tell you what it's communicating with and possibly why.

Another thing. MAC addresses are supposed to be a unique identifier to the whole world. It costs manufacturers a lot of money to get those unique ID's. Maybe ford is saving money and just generating their own numbers. Maybe you got one that matched another device or the other way around the bitcoin machine generated a number that matches your device.

PS. I would move that mac address from your post.

It's obviously a labeling problem with your home network. An ant miner uses like a billion times more processing power than an fcsp could ever muster.

Your Tesla on the other hand is stealing your data and mining eth 24/7. 😜
