If it was from another vehicle, his window and headlights would have residue. Unless of course he ran over an entire case of oil and didn't notice it..

I agree with @Ricks Lightning. The transmission fluid in the Lightning is red. The spray pattern suggests the oil was released at high pressure. There's a bunch of suspects in front of the motor. My bet is a leaking line replaced or reattached plus an oil change fixes it.

If I understand the motor design, the motor oil is self contained to the motor, there are no eternal lines like you might see in an ICE application, ie. transmission cooler connections to & from the radiator.

Our motors oil is pumped internally through a few gallys and then to machined ports which interface with a oil/glycol heat exchanger, only glycol flows through the connected hoses.

Potential oil leak points are the external pump, oil filter, heat exchanger, output shafts & case mating surfaces.
