Who cares? The cybertruck owners have a crappy looking truck that cuts your fingers off. I have a beautiful, stylish, useful, and functional pickup truck people like everywhere.
The CT looks like a dumpster on wheels. Meanwhile, everyone who rides in my Lightning raves about how stylish, hi-tech, powerful, and quiet it is. People I know who saw it for the first time tell me how much they love the looks. I get a lot of "wow, sweet truck". It's not that I need any of that from anyone, but there's no way someone who isn't a Musk fan-boy would choose the CT over the Lightning.

I’m in NO WAY a Musk fan (I think he’s Tesla’s biggest problem and should be shitcanned) but I still think CT vs LT is a personal preference. I have a good friend with a CT, and been in it many times. It is cool tech and fun to be in.

Its not for me, but I can’t spout vitrol that it’s shite either.

If you want a status symbol attention getter and you are a Musk fanboy, then the CT is for you. Otherwise, it's not practical compared to the other EV trucks currently in production and in the pipeline.

My eye is on the Scout Terra.

Not new to us, but think of the average person who reads Fortune. It’s likely geared more toward the investor crowd than anything else. But there are some tidbits relevant to the Lightning so I felt like it was worth sharing. Not saying I agree with any of it lol

And there’s also no shortage of people who had buyers remorse about the Lightning if you spend a minute on Facebook, Reddit, or any public forum really. Not saying they are right, but it wouldn’t be too hard to find a “source” to back up whatever point you’re trying to make.
You can find buyer's remorse with ANY vehcile, or other item for that matter.

Just think about WHY they have buyer's remorse. It is reasonable?

Like say buying a brand new Kia and then having the motor freeze up due to bad valves (happened to one of my relatives last year).

The Washington Post has a big anti-EV OpEd writer, now on the Editorial board which is one reason we cancelled our 20+ year subscription, named Charles Lane...always ranting about EVs from the early days of Teslas and Nissan Leafs, to the present. Meanwhile he drives a VW diesel smoker-choker.

Here's a secret, most of these articles and op-eds are ghost written by industry or competitors.

My wife use to write them (it was part of her job) for a couple of DC area think tanks (tax exempt, mostly conservative economics with funding from "Big Business" donors) and then they would send them to various writers or politicians who'd then maybe tweak them a sconce and put their name on them and the article would be in the paper or magazine in a few days.

At least she would not get facts wrong, unlike the tripe that appears these days when apparently, facts no longer matter...alas.

I learn from others' opinions . I thought the article was flimsy and the headline was misleading, but I also learned about Ford's EREV ambition. Now I have something to research.

I adore my Lightning. It brings a smile to my face on every drive after 3 yrs.

We were on tour in Florida this past month (we're touring musicians, use a ProMaster camper van for such travel). We drove past the Tesla location in Ft. Myers. There were at least 50 CyberTrucks on the lot. The friends we stayed with in Ft. Myers said those have been there a while. Tesla may be building a bunch, but has a lot of inventory sitting in this location (perhaps in others too?). As we travel the country, we find folks will, without prompting, comment on the things, not in a good way. Today in New Hampshire, while driving our Mach-e, a guy in a Cybertruck went by us with a sticker that said, "My Name is Trugly," and his license plate was "Trugly." Got a chuckle out of that.

There are real reasons if you want to admit it or not.

That is the funniest thing I’ve heard in a great while!
Thanks for making my day.

As for the article, how can you make a case based on a single user’s experience?
In summary the article says, here is a guy that did no research, didn’t; know what he bought and now is unhappy….go figure.

Is that the new model I've been hearing about?🤪

I've read a couple articles in the last few days about reports of the CT's glued on panels coming loose. I wonder if it's widespread, or a couple isolated incidents.
