Just got this e-mail from Ford. I am surprised it wasn't set up like this from the get go.

BOCN has it's use cases, but I'm not super excited by it. I'd rather pay the membership fee for the provider and get the discounted price. Thankfully I don't road trip super often so it's not much of an inconvenience to me.

It's not - the full press release (not the article linked though) makes it clear it's for fleet customers

DEARBORN, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Ford Pro, the commercial division within Ford Motor Company, and Xcel Energy, a national leader in clean energy, announced a unique collaboration to support the deployment of 30,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging ports in Xcel Energy service territories across the U.S. by 2030 with most upfront costs offset by Xcel for qualifying business fleet customers

The Xcel Energy announcement does not mention DCFC chargers. It looks like they just plan put L2 chargers at businesses. Good for some people but I don’t see these chargers helping me any.

They actually are offering 150kW and 250kW DC fast charge options. I'm going to try and get info on them to see how that works. I have a rental property where I'd love to put in a 250kW fast charger that can charge two vehicles.
