I never buy the extended warranty from the dealership finance guy, I always buy them after the fact at a significant discount. Extended warranties have saved me significant money in repairs on every vehicle I’ve purchased them for, usually 2-3 times their initial cost. I understand that I am buying insurance, and that if I have a perfect vehicle I’m wasting my money. My experience ranging from Ford, Toyota, VW, Subaru, and Dodge vehicles is that the extended warranty saved me money. If I sell the vehicle sooner I get a pro rated refund on the remaining warranty. I got $1100 back in refund from VW on my 2009 Jetta TDI after they spent $9K in repairs on it.

I posted the brochure that was on the page with the warranty pricing at Flood Ford. The one you posted looks to be more specific to EV’s, which is good.
Someone told me the light bar that was warranty replaced was like some ridiculous amount of money. It’s like most vehicles. It’s all the electric stuff on these trucks the interior things and all the you know cushy things that are ridiculously expensive. I’m pretty sure that if I can keep my truck to 150,000 miles the $3900 SP will pay for itself. It sure did the last time I owned a Cadillac dealership paid almost $7000 in repairs or got paid $7000 in repairs.

My dealership Randy Marion ford west Jefferson is selling me the esp 10 year 150k for right at $4900 cash. They claim that’s $500 over cost. Reg price was 5900 ish I think.

Did you find a better deal?

Anyone have any insight on what the true life expectancy is on the battery pack.

And FYI I’ve been charging to 95%. Going to 90% when temperatures warm up.

All I here is battery life depends on treatment.
Any Advice?

Regards Bob
Granger Ford sells for $50 over cost.

The battery pack is covered by the 8 year, 100K EV warranty and is not covered by any Ford ESP.

I know. It’s a crap shoot. I’ve been told by techs I should expect for batteries to last in excess of 150,000 miles.

As long as something catastrophic doesn’t happen, the battery will outlast the truck.
what do you base that on? And 150,000 miles is as far as ESP coverage goes for all the other parts.

I spoke to my service technician (the one who has replaced the two battery modules that have failed so far) and he recommended I purchase an ESP. No service plan will warranty the battery for more than the 8 years/100,000 miles Ford offers as the standard warranty, but the technician told me there are a number of very expensive items that can fail after 3 years/36,000 miles. I purchased the service contract that will cover everything up to 10 years/80,000 miles because I expect to trade the truck in just before the battery warranty runs out.

what do you base that on?
Battery degradation over the number of charge cycles.

There have been a number of studies looking at battery life with various charging habits. The almost all arrive at this conclusion.
