+1 on getting a good receptacle. Here's a cheap Leviton I used for about 2 years, charging mostly at 40A. I used #6 copper and probably only unplugged the UMC 3-4 times over 2 years, if that. The gen1 Tesla UMC did not have a temperature sensor. It's also possible I did not torque down the terminal tight enough, but after searching, I see my experience with the Leviton receptacle was not unique.
I replaced it with a Utilitech receptacle which people seem to like. Just has to last me until my CSP comes in anyway.
