Ford pass suddenly stopped working?

I arrived at work this morning plugged the truck into a level 2 charger 48amps 9.2 kw and I checked the FordPass ap and it’s not showing it charging? I deleted the app and reinstalled it but came up the the same WTH!. They really need to get this app working correctly! I wish they would get it together. I love the truck but the software and app are way behind the times. Any advice?

Occasionally the Ford data center has glitches & brown outs, try to wait a few hours for it to heal itself before going through what you did, possibly a waste of your time.

This is most likely an issue with the truck modem and not your app at all. What do the connection icons at the top of your screen show? It should show usually a wifi signal indicator (if wifi is turned on) and the up/down arrows icon. When driving the wifi indicator would turn to cellular bar signal indicator.
assuming wifi is turned on, if you just see the cellular bars when stopped or parked, then your modem may be locked up. Usually it resolves itself (after shutting off the truck for at least 30 minutes) when you turn it back on for your next trip.

Well, I pretty much waited all day. I reset my cell phone. I deleted the app restarted the app went into the truck disconnected my phone from the truck reconnected it and still it appears that the fordPass app is just not working stuck problem with this is if I need to charge tonight, will it charge or will not charge because the app’s not working? I have no idea. I guess I’ll find out in the morning.

I think deleting the app screwed up your configuration & association to the home EVSE, I'm assuming you are using an FCSP at home? Please confirm or inform me what you have at home for level 2 charging.

BTW, did you do a 12v negative terminal disconnect on the truck, this could remedy a stuck Telematics modem?

The Ford cloud is working for me, so the issue is likely at your end initially the truck not talking to the cloud, and now munged up configurations of your iot.

Yes I am using the FCSP at home I will try to disconnect the neg on the battery I did try my mobile charger and it worked

So you can see the charging status and rate in FordPass while using the mobile charger, that tells me the telematics communications should be OK.

That should also work with the FCSP or any third party EVSE

Just to be clear this is what I'm referring to, the active charging session data screen on the energy tab of Fordpass

I have noticed this or something similar as well when charging lately? FordPass app does not show the current correct KWH or maybe freezes would be a better way to put it. If I remember correctly the time on the charger is correct but if you do the math it is not correct! sometimes it corrects later during the charging session and sometimes it only corrects when the charge is complete or stopped??

I've cause the active session display to freeze up by tinkering with the SOC stop point setting and pausing (STOP) then resuming (START) the session activity, sometimes the data feed is corrupted and won't display accurately until the EVSE is unplugged from the truck for 30 to 60 seconds, letting the last session data to close and roll to the server, then plug in again and leave the customizations alone.

Is your FCSP always powered up? If you switch on the breaker only when you use the FCSP that could be part of the issue, sometimes it takes 5 to 30 minutes to reestablish FCSP data reporting to the cloud). But the basic charging details in the active charging session on Fordpass come from telematics not the FCSP directly.

There are multiple channels of data flow occurring.

Is your local network signal strong enough to reach the FCSP?

Reconfiguring / installing Fordpass might have hosed up the association to the FCSP data account, (not certain about this)

BTW: for the sake of clarity: Ford Pass> Energy Tab> Charge Station:

If you're showing off line, then it's a networking issue, not enough time to communicate with the cloud after power up.

So what I did, I took the negative off. The battery. Waited a few minutes. Put it back on that got ford pass working again! For some reason, my Ford charger wouldn’t work anymore so I basically turned it off. Reset it re-initialize it and waited 15, 20 minutes it reconnected so now it’s working again. This is crazy stuff. I appreciate you guys help seem like you guys know more than Ford does.
