I have yet to receive the update, but interestingly my Blue Cruise map expiration went from 10-4-23 to 10-6-23. Don’t know what to make of that

Ugh, waiting for this Ford update is almost as painful as waiting for Windows Updates to apply back in the day. I really wish there was a known way to force it to apply updates besides going to a dealer.

This is good news - for some strange reason, for this date, Ford uses a different format - that says you are now updated to June 10, 2023 - rather than just April. I've got the same date now.

Just need to make the quick comparison, this is what makes Tesla so much easier to manage. They put all apps in every car. You can pay the $10 and get everything or you can connect to your hot spot and have it all.

They've complicated the crap out of this system - way too many options. We know the truck still has connectivity because we get updates away from the house and navigation traffic updates are happening. However, if you don't pay the fee you are blocked from streaming options. I should be able to use my hot spot if I want.

Another update, tried again and this time it worked. Awesomeness….Big test will be to see if I can log onto my YT account. I could never log on with my Model 3.

Yes! I wonder if this could mean I am able to receive updates (was suspecting I wasnt able to). Hopefully my truck updates tonight.

Wish we could keep track of when the update is received, all of the truck settings. See if maybe having automatic updates off rather than on pushes the update faster.

I am currently scheduled for 7 days a week at 1am with automatic updates enabled. connected to my homes wifi with almost full strength. Truck stays plugged in and at 90% SOC.

I sat in the truck looking through the new GUI some today and noticed that the truck has a good solid connection to my home wifi while in the garage. I'm not sure I'd ever seen it connect or stay connected to Wifi.

I'm trying to see if if I've got a BT problem or other issue with the truck or my phone. Just after this update I had BT problems and posted here. The next day the phone connected and I've been in good shape since, even with wireless and plugged in CarPlay. Then again today I get in and it won't connect to CarPlay for anything - wireless or wired, BT is somewhat wonky again too.

The real reason I noted the Wifi is it seemed to connect as soon as I pulled in the garage. It won't do that if it is connected to wireless CarPlay because the Wifi connection is taken to your phone.

I'll continue to observe a few more days and try to determine if I'm doing something or if something is really going wonky to keep it all from working right.

I have it only because I manually installed it using FDRS. Interestingly enough, I still have the trial for Ford Streaming, it is active... but the truck doesn't think so. Trial hotspot works, but it can't connect to its own hotspot, so I just connect it to my phone's hotspot and it works great, especially while charging at a DCFC, and watch a couple of YouTube videos while I'm waiting.

Can you tell me where I can get started with FDRS? What adapter are you using and what license? How did you get started?

I finally just received 4.1.1. It applied while out to dinner. I got a black screen and no audio system or climate controls for the trip home. Did a reset when I got home and got everything back. This truck tests my patience.

You better buckle up - this is the best resource, be sure and read the whole thread before starting !! I can say, I don't use FDRS and over this year, I've read almost every bit of it.

iPhone? Mine has been acting up and I find restarting my phone resolves the issue

Thanks! That is very helpful. What about the battery charger thing? Is that an issue for the Lightning? Or can we ignore that step?

You cannot skip that step. The 12V battery on the Lightning is very small and the contractors on the high voltage battery will be open during much of the update process
