Ford Six Spoke Wheel specs

Can anyone point me towards a resource that might explain why Ford lists the M1007P2085MB 20” wheel in the Ford catalog as NOT compatible with the Lightning? FWIW tire rack says it is compatible…
Ford doesn’t publish the weight rating for this wheel that I’ve seen. I’m thinking that’s the issue?
I like the design. Reminds me of the second gen lightning.

It will physically fit, but it's not rated for the weight. These are the same wheels that were available on the 2015 to 2017 XLT and Lariat Sport trucks with the 20" option, just a different color. But the Lightning is much heavier and has a higher GVWR than that truck. You couldn't get these wheels on a truck with the HDPP either, for the same reason.

Now, could you use them without a problem? Probably. That's up to you.

Looks like most 2021+ ford OEM wheels are rated for a little over 2k. The STX wheels at 1875 are the lowest. I’m trying to figure out if 2025/2249 would be safe or not on a ER Lightning.

The general rule is 1/2 axle weight rating and that means about 2500 for the lightning. Would you be ok? Probably. Would I do it? Maybe. On my Volvo XC90 phev I have winter tires on a set of regular xc90 wheels that Volvo states on the accessory page as not for hybrid. They are starting winter number 7 with no problems at all. The winter wheels for our xc40 EV are xc90 wheels as well, though the car is lighter than the original vehicle that they came off of. My lightning winter wheels are rated at 3640. I was certainly considering the black Ford wheels, but the price and specs on these were much better.

They will probably be fine for day to day driving, but I wouldn't trust them for hauling or towing anything.

I'm not wired to roll the dice like that. hah
I'm going with the OE wheels through the winter season anyway so I'm hoping some more options become available next year. It's just a pita that I've got to make sure I double check behind retailers to ensure wheels are right for my truck. First world problems and all that.. but still annoying.

I like the wheels but I think I’m going 18” and getting rid of the 20s. I want more rubber and it may perhaps improve range based on videos I’ve watched.
