Hello All Again!

I realize too much info can cause undue worry…but I was playing around with ForScan today and everything looked good on the PIDs, except for EV battery capacity. Shows “88”!
I’ve been getting poor range, but it’s winter in Illinois. Does this number mean my actual HVB capacity? Guessing it should be 98 (listed) or the whatever the real capacity is. Do I have bad modules or does this number mean something completely different?
Thanks everyone!

There are two different SOC readings. Displayed and actual.

Correct, those are shown in the photo as well. I understand those. I’m referring to the bottom one “ev battery CAPACITY.”

I belive the values are hexidecimal so 88 would be (8*16)+8 = 136 which I believe is the real ER capacity

Forscan seems to have a few display bugs. I‘m pretty sure that your 12V battery is not charging at 147.00 volts. 14.7 is more sensible.

I assumed it was the useable capacity. I thought actual was over 140kWh?

I have a Platinum. Suppose to be 300 mile range. I was planning a trip this weekend and put the truck to a 100% charge (first time) and the range was 328. The weather was 75+ and below 85.

I bet with cold weather the max range will be 275. Every EV owner learns their vehicle over time. Give it a year and understand range vs load, speed, how you drive, etc.

Be happy.

That’s great information on the Hex value.

Does anyone actually have a link to a document for these metrics in OBD? Even an SAE PDF or something would be great to have - I have found nothing in my searches.
