Hello all, I'm looking for a little help. I recently followed the online threads and tips and installed a hood light bar on my SR '23 Pro. Install was a little bumpy but I got it in and working!
however...
once fully installed, my hood frunk release button didn't want to work at first and I was afraid I had shorted something. It did however start working again - but fast forward to this week and when I tried to pop the frunk, it only raises about 12" then stops. It will go back down and latch but from all buttons, key fob and emergency latch inside the frunk, I can only get it to open part way.
i have also tried to reset the height limit but that also doesn't do anything...

Please help

If these steps are followed but it's still not rising correctly, have the dealer inspect it for other issues, maybe one of the power struts has failed

This is as much as I can get. I've followed the instructions you sent as well. Just stops here. 🤷‍♂️

Try pulling the negative battery terminal, leave disconnected for 10 minutes.
Re-connect, manually force the frunk closed.
Try opening with the cabin button.
Follow the calibration process if needed.

If no good, time for the dealer to look at it.

Yes. Just got to kill the LV system to reset it

I had a strut failure last year when I took delivery of the truck that required a strut assembly replacement

I got the same issue before. I took it to dealer and they fixed it in 30 min by re-configuration. I have no idea how they did it though.

No beeps. It does close fine. Just raises to the position in the photo then stops. When I press the button again it lowers and latches. I'll try the LV reset. 🤞

If it stopped working after you put the light in then it's something you did.

Take it apart and check all your connections and wiring again. Maybe try without the light plugged in too.

If that fails then the dealer might help but I'd be expecting to pay for that service as the light bar wasn't installed at factory.

Well, I have taken the grill apart, checked connections. I actually added electrical grease to the connections too, reset the 12v system (disconnected the negative terminal for 10 min) and no difference. Frunk hood still stops only about 12 inches from close position. Thanks for the ideas everyone. I guess this maybe a task for the dealer to look at next time I'm in. On the bright side, I guess I'm not in danger of my frunk hitting anything as it opens!
