I'm going a bit insane. I'm getting max volume level chimes on phone notifications . I've disabled the chime from Android auto settings in both my phone AND in the truck Android auto setting. Why do I feel so challenged by this.

Have you turned off the Text notification from the My SYNC in your phones bluetooth menu? That solved it for me.

I just left the Android Auto alerts as normal.

Not sure I see that one. See 2 images here from my Bluetooth area.
The one I circled red is is in the BT advanced.
The other image is only options within the SYNC bt device via phone

Turn off "Message Access" under Danes Sync. Mine was labeled "Text Messages" as seen below but fixed the annoying notification chime.

My AA notifications are a reasonable volume. The volume of the "OK Google" voice can be adjusted while it is talking, I bet that will reduce the volume of other notifications as well. Try saying "OK Google..." and turn the volume down to an acceptable level while it responds.

Thank you. I just made the adjustment @3rdgenfan mentioned and haven't had a chance to see if that worked. If it does I may flip it back on and test this for future knowledge and helping others.

What worked for me was you have to disconnect from android auto when you're in the truck. Then go into the phone settings within the menu. The issue is that the chime is coming from sync and not your phone. I didn't try what @3rdgenfan did though, so that might fix it also. Drove me crazy for the first week or so.

Funny your "similar threads" is first on the list. I must have used the wrong words when searching..
So you are saying if I go into my phone list while my phone isn't connected there will be some additional settings under my specific phone?
I will say I think the suggest noted above within my phones screen may have fixed it.

I had to go into the sync phone settings on the truck, disconnect from Android auto which then gave the option to change the phone settings. After that I could deactivate the messages chime or whatever it was
