Got the BC 1.4 today, and I LOVE it? But...

...for some reason, my acceleration zip has zapped.
One of my favorite things about my lightning is it's ability to smoke nearly to everything off the line. Of course I don't abuse the privilege, and I'm usually alone on a straight-away, when my daughter says, "Daddy, take-off," and I do. It usually sinks me into my seat... And tries for orbit!
Today, after the Bluecruise 1.4 update, we all went driving to see how well it functioned, and it was solid... Lane changes were amazing, the BC was far more solid and confident in the turns, and we really had a blast. Awesome update!
However on the deserted straight-away coming up to the house, my daughter asked her usual, and I punched it... Whoa....
My foot sunk to the floor, but the truck acted exactly like an ICE truck, slow acceleration through the first few seconds, and then a very gradual increase up to speed. No chirp, nuthin.
I was dumfounded. I tried again with the Sport mode off, same. Turned off the truck and back on, same. Turned off BC, same.
I have a BMW i3 and there is a built-in governor to prevent the axle from damaging the relatively (to the lightning) fragile frame. It felt exactly like that....
SO... Is this a thing? Has anyone else had that experience after the update?

Since the domestic terror incident in New Orleans where a Lightning was used, I’ve theorized that Ford was going to stealth nerf the acceleration curve with an unannounced change in a future over-the-air update at some point. I turned off automatic updates after it happened and haven’t done any since. I have been waiting on posts like these to pop up.

What was HVB SOC?
Ambient air temperature & surface condition of road?
Any possibility of tire slip?

If muting performance is suspected, someone with an accelerometer might want to document before & after performance, while waiting for BC1.4 to drop on the general population.

They absolutely did not do that. Even if they wanted to, updates are not that fast to come out.

Oh and you might want to remove your password from the first name field where it is shown to everyone

This makes no sense to me. What does changing the acceleration curve supposed to prevent? Are they going to change it so that people can out run the truck? Dialing down acceleration a few percent would not have changed a thing. If Ford is manipulating the acceleration curve, I would believe it has more to do with technical matters.

Around 100%
Dry roads, tried it a few times around town.
Around 45-50 degrees.
Naw, brand new tires, and I kinda wish it had chirped. Just really slow acceleration.

That makes sense. If I hadn't had ten years experience with my i3, I wouldn't have recognized the feel of that change in the curve.

How long had you been driving?

A friend brought home a MachE Rally which has 480hp/700ftlb. On the way to the brewery he kept flooring it but said it felt flat. Seemed pretty good to me. On the way home he floored it again and it was immediately noticeable. That car is an absolute beast. My skinny little neck cannot overcome the acceleration.

The difference between the ride there and the ride home was heat in the battery. Presumably, you'd be able to see this on the instrument panel so it's probably not your issue. Take it out for another drive and see if you still feel the same way.
