There was a hail storm on 22 June seven weeks after taking delivery on 5 May. I received an emergency alert! Insurance repair estimate was $6,847. I had to wait until 1 Nov for the "Ford aluminum specialist" to drop it off. After waiting four months for the appointment, the body shop told me when I dropped it off that "if the roof has to be replaced, we can't replace it because it's an electric vehicle." Does that logic make sense to anyone? Further, if they can't repair the vehicle completely, they won' repair any of it. That information that would have been helpful to know before making me wait four months for the appointment...
I just picked it back up 21 Nov. The body shop is attempting to collect $11,650 total from insurance for the repair. Woah, that's almost twice the original estimate and 14% of the vehicle's pumped up retail.
The only parts replaced were the hood and one of the lightning logos on the bed. The body shop broke plastic clips inside the frunk when replacing it and made me wait two weeks while they waited on replacement plastic clips from a dealer...
At least it's finally repaired.
