Going on three weeks in the shop now.
They don't know what's wrong,. Can't open or close even with full replacement.
Has anyone got good news about this?

How is this possible?

Your previous post I assumed would be fixed with the replacement of a "pinch" sensor.

What have they replaced?

I have no idea. They applied all the recalls and updates. Then, after starting on the Frunk, I know they received the wrong part, then said they could probably use it anyway, and that they would get the right one in on Monday. They said they (now) need to actually call Ford.
Yes, good idea.
Driving me crazy. Hell, if I could opt for a manual only, I'd take it and drive my awesome truck. As it is, gonna miss TDay trip if it ain't in and applied by Tuesday. Sorry to bitch, but I can't be the onliest with this issue. Any ideas are welcome.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

You can open it manually - according to the internet:

Yes, you can manually open the frunk on a Ford F-150 Lightning, but it should only be done in situations where the vehicle's battery is dead or the power frunk mechanism is malfunctioning; to do so, access the service release strap located inside the left front door panel and pull it to release the frunk latch.

Key points to remember:
  • Only use manual release when necessary: Always try to open the frunk using the power button first.
  • Access the release strap: Open the left front door to reach the service release strap located on the panel.
  • Check the vehicle is in park: Ensure your vehicle is in park before pulling the release strap

Video manual release Frunk: at about 1:36 seconds

Maybe there's an opportunity for our friends at BuiltRight or a similar company: A manual frunk kit to be applied when the frunk first acts up after the bumper-to-bumper warranty has expired. Something with a safe traditional latch and a cable release, and built to last for thousands of cycles.

This assumes that Master Control Program doesn't freak out due to a human taking control of its mechanism, though. Also that someone who puts manual stuff on an EV isn't burned at the stake for heresy.

Mine had an issue where it would beep and pop open but not “power lift” all the way up. After manually pulling it up it would do the same for closing. Beep a few times then do nothing. Had to manually shut it. Took it to dealer and a few hours later it was fine. They said something had to be reprogrammed. It’s worked ever since.

Yes, that's how we have had to do it for this past two months. Manually. Thank you, tho.
