Although I have never had hoity toidy envy, I think we are talking about different things. The following is the calm screen I am looking for a shortcut for.

So I tried to turn this IPC calm screen on yesterday after seeing this post... can't figure out how to do it.

I have a 2023 XLT ER 312A with the 12-inch Sync screen. I assumed the IPC screens all have common features across all the trims - maybe I'm wrong.

How do I turn this IPC calm screen on? Thanks in advance.

This is a great thread!

Since it doesn't seem to have been mentioned yet, I only discovered a few days ago that there are two additional USB-C power connectors in the center console's storage area.

And there is a notch in the lid so the cable can be routed outside without pinching. Works great for a "guest charger". If I recall correctly the ports dont connect the phone to the infotainmentsystem which I consider a good thing.

I was going to order that strap. I watched the installation videos and tips for installation like raising the seat bottom and keeping the seat bottom in the same position when unlocking and locking the back.

After learning how the release works I find that I can easily release the seatback lever by reaching my hand down and pulling up on the release so long as I lift the seat bottom first.

I store a First Aid Kit behind that seat in my XLT. I feel confident I can access it in an emergency that does not involve the loss of my right arm.
I used a piece of stainless wire and paracord to make an easy to reach release. I’ll probably open that space less than a dozen times during my three year lease.

You use the steering wheel buttons to turn on Calm screen.

This video might help, at about 3:25 minute mark.

Thanks!

Wow... as many times as I have cycled thru these IPC screens in the past 6 months, somehow I must have glossed right over THAT setting

So I ran the IPC calm screen last night for about 200 miles while on the job. BLUF: I like it. Just enough of the info that is useful, without the visual distraction of the two large "gear" rings.

Additionally, running at night through well-lit urban and darker suburban areas, I realized that the fewer complex light patterns are on the IPC the more my eyes can focus on what's important, i.e. the outside driving surroundings.

It's also nice to have the speedo centered like it is on the Calm screen.

I think I'll keep the IPC Calm screen now as the default.

If you do extended driving at night, You can turn off the big screen and reduce the brightness of this one to save yourself some eye fatigue.

I sometimes do this as well.

BTW the 15-inch screen I had on my former Mach E was far more intrusive at night... the XLT's 12-incher is less so.

Thanks!
