you probably aren’t the minority but wrap material is “cheap”. It’s the labor that will cost you every time. What would you charge someone to wrap their lightning if they came to you and it cost about $400 in materials?

takes about 2 days or so with a couple people. So at that point you don’t want a “cheap” wrap. You want a wrap that will last you several years or else you’re going to have to pay for labor every time ….and labor isn't Going to get any cheaper. It will be interesting to see the cyber truck with 1 color option. Those rolled steel panels don’t look 100% smooth so I think a wrap could be difficult to pull off

I saw one in San Diego that was wrapped in bronze. The color was stunning - just beautiful. I didn’t help the shape, though!

My friend wrapped his cyber truck to give it color and I believe it cost about 3k.

I ended up not being happy with the gray color of my truck and would be interested in wrapping it a different color

Got the survey and took it. At the end they said they were interested in interviewing me about it (maybe they saw my pictures on the forum!).

For me, I would love it as a factory option to get custom colors and patterns! Anything better than the boring stock colors.

IMHO, it's a ploy to paint only one dull color, and then upcharge people for anything else. Much like Tesla. Cut their cost and increase revenue at the same time.

I just talked to a shop that is wrapping cyber trucks. They said it’s pretty easy because all the trim removes incredibly easy unlike other car manufactures and then all panels are flat.

What did Henry Ford say? “You can have any color you want, as long as it is black.” Looks like Ford is going back to their old roots.
I have to admit it is pretty clever of Ford to “option” all the basics features, much like the discount airlines are charging for a seat (AFTER you have already paid for the airfare). Sucks for us!
Of course, customers will be free to choose other brands that don’t play those games, in the same way that General Motors stole a lot of marketshare from Ford by offering various colors -back in the day.
Short-term sales increase are not the same as long-term profitability. How’s that Ford stock price doing these days?
