Headlights switching from Auto to On by themselves

Hey, I have noticed over the past few weeks that sometimes when I get in the truck it is chiming at me that the lights are on. I have to rotate the dial from on back to auto and then the chiming stops. However, Im not ever taking the lights out of auto to begin with. They are switching by themselves at somepoint. Ive looked at my security camera footage and the lights are not on when I pull in and shut off the car. They aren’t turning on till i actually open the door later on to get back into the truck. Has anyone else seen anything like this? It just started this a few weeks ago.

There is a bug in the chip in the headlight control switch. It is across the board on all Ford vehicles and only got fixed the end of last year. It will happen for a bit then not happen again for ages. There will be a fix but it's just not a top priority right now

The "fix" is a new switch. There aren't any yet to speak of, and there are 150,000 Mach-Es that need it to.

Rotate headlight knob to OFF, then back to AUTO, and it may not happen for many months.
