Android auto calls

Quick fix as noted is to switch between truck to handset and back. The other person can hear me, but I can't hear them. I just tell them to hang on a second while I make the switch over.

Same issues as well. Going to try this fix as this problem is getting really annoying.

Just tried AA yesterday to test Google maps directions. Got an incoming call today. I just heard static. Caller tried again tried answering still incoming static. They called 3rd time, this time I could hear them fine. Caller stated they could hear me on earlier tries but I couldn't hear them

How are you switching between truck and cellphone? Running Android Auto?
Android Auto running, Wired or wireless, our Moto G Power is just getting static when person that called or was called is speaking, also without being able to hear any ringing when calling out. This was not the case in 2023, but we are not doing a lot of calls so not able to pinpoint when problem started.
Also I tried turning off AA, so just Bluetooth I guess, and problem was same. Had to turn off truck and open door to have cellphone working directly to cell system to get a clear connection. Did not try display reset yet.

I'm just pressing the button on the screen to switch to the hand set and then press a second time to switch to the truck. I usually don't run android auto. I just connected to my Pixel 5A with bluetooth.

I'm still having to manually switch between bluetooth and the phone in order to get bluetooth over the truck working.

What gives? Clearly the truck's capable of handling calls properly and it's just a software issue... why is something so basic as call handling failing?

Regarding the phone call static, I contacted Ford BEV 866-631-3788, transferred to BEV tech?, display reset did nothing. Tech, Kamera?, said software update coming for phone communication as this is a common issue. I cannot imagine having to deal with the INTENSE static-only called/caller's ring/voice, and thereby a lost call, if I used the phone every day.

Update 5-7-24: found my wife's Moto G Power, same as my model, does not have a problem with static substituting for voices. I did get a refurb exchange for a broken screen sometime in the past, so I wonder my unit has a defect. So now I must blame the phone instead of Ford. Now I still need to figure out periodic loss of Ford Nav (reset of phone helped?) and the shaky Ford Navigation arrow on the map.

The static problem has mostly went away for me. What I don't like now, is when I'm driving in the truck and my phone rings, it will come through the speakers like normal, but now, the display will say, Unlock your phone when it's safe, or something like that. So I have to dig in my pockets to find my phone, then wake my phone up, just to answer the call. It's VERY dangerous! Before, all I had to do was to tap the Answer the call button on the truck display but I'm guessing a recent update screwed that up. *sigh*

2023 XLT, Pixel 5, same issues. I get one ring through the truck and then silence, and just like others have said, I switch to speaker or handset and then back to Bluetooth and the audio comes back. Good to know it's not just me or my phone.

newer phone, Moto G Stylus 5G 2024, fixed my problem, or at least the static is gone and connecting to AA is more consistent, but not perfect.
