Heat Turns On Automatically

The Owner's manual failed to even address how to have a vent condition, except for the moonroof.

It’s not called “vent”. Search for “recirculate.”

For the 12 inch center display on Pro and XLT models, climate air flow direction and E-Heat show up in a display screen called "Additional Climate Controls" after pressing the single climate HVAC panel control button that shows various air flow directions (left of "Auto" button):

I think Ford should have fit these 5 choices below into the HVAC control panel as separate buttons:

It is also weird the manual fan speed control switch can run the blower at a faster speed than the max (3 lights) speed of the Auto button. Another option, Ford could allow customers to customize placement of the buttons, physical or virtual on the display (I predict that will never happen)!

I know what you mean. I’m just relaying the fact that Ford uses the term “Recirculate” in the manual to describe how to accomplish venting. “Recirculate” turned off = vent.

This morning I had the opposite but similar issue. I had an early two hour drive and had the heat on. About an hour in it felt cool so I look down at the screen and the AC had turned itself on. I checked the climate menu and the heat was still on as well.

Automatic for the consistent comfort by the precise numeric value on the screen, this time of year we will see it flip/flop between the two, I still don't think it's an issue since the AC compressor and PTC heater cycle (on/off) independent of what the screen indicators are showing.

Still looking for one of our resident PID gurus to monitor these background functions with the two indicators being on.

My heater will turn back on unless I manually select the vent mode (e.g. dash, footwell, both) after deselecting heat on the touch screen. This seems to enable the memory.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but just noticed that there is no way to select "defog" to have air blow on the windshield without the "heat" being "on"? That's strange. Played around with this, and the only way to turn the heat "off" was to add the dashboard or footwell vents, which is not needed when I want to defog the windshield and side windows.
