I know what you mean. I’m just relaying the fact that Ford uses the term “Recirculate” in the manual to describe how to accomplish venting. “Recirculate” turned off = vent."Vent" as in let in outside fresh air with out heating or AC.
Sorry to bump an old thread, but just noticed that there is no way to select "defog" to have air blow on the windshield without the "heat" being "on"? That's strange. Played around with this, and the only way to turn the heat "off" was to add the dashboard or footwell vents, which is not needed when I want to defog the windshield and side windows.My heater will turn back on unless I manually select the vent mode (e.g. dash, footwell, both) after deselecting heat on the touch screen. This seems to enable the memory.
