I'm like Viper in that I will have a total redundant combo of everything to gain that " independent" feeling and divorce myself from utility companies and big oil where possible. It's become a hobby of sorts. That's where the Lightning comes in to play. It will run it on power I make at home. I feel good about that angle. I have vehicles that outperform the lightning in almost every way.

The powerwalls came in to play because of power shut-offs during fire season that I experienced last year. I live in rural San Diego. Quiet is very nice and doesn't draw any attention like a generator. I lost power twice in the last 3 months and didn't even know it. The Tesla app shows me everything I could want to know about all my power and I really like it. I consider the powerwalls to be a generator replacement. I will soon be able to go off-grid if I want to and never look back. Electricity where I live is VERY expensive. The first year I had solar and SDGE owed me money I made them send me a check. Damn that felt good..I framed it LOL
