I spent the past couple of years trying to justify replacing my ‘18 Ridgeline with a Lightning. Mainly because I was excited by the idea of something new and a first EV. I took a cooling off period for a few months and am glad I did, because I love my Ridgeline more the longer I have it. It is really the best vehicle I have ever owned (of 20+ over the years) and I enjoy it every drive. The trunk bed and two way tailgate are indispensable to me and the fact that it drives like a comfortable SUV is a major plus for my achy back. It is also paid for and as the Lightning tech ages, I’m glad I didn’t jump at a new shiny impulse buy and don’t have a car payment. 180k kms and a couple of warranty repairs (rear camera, torque converter) but zero else. My local Honda dealer is also head and shoulders above my local Ford dealer service dept when I’ve had Fords (Explorers and an SVT Focus).

i do have a reservation in for a Scout Terra with range extender, will see if I can show the same self discipline when that becomes available.

The ridgeline is a car. I was so disappointed when honda took a great product and downsized it into a cuv with a box.

You can't compare it to a half ton, no matter the drive type.

The lightning is miles ahead of the ridgeline in all aspects.

Agree, can’t compare to a half ton. What I realized is that I don’t need a half ton. Whether a Ridgeline is a truck in the eyes of other truck owners means zero to me. It does all the truck stuff I need it to. It does look a little dorky. “Miles ahead in all aspects”, maybe or maybe not, glad you enjoy your Lightning. No question the Lightning is an impressive vehicle and I’m sure I would enjoy one but comfortable that not buying one was the right choice for me.

Knowing me, I'll procrastinate long enough, then I'll be debating between a 24/25 and '26!
Anyone know when Ford releases their new Model Year?

I'm waiting for a news release on when MY25 production kicks off, with the pause in production at the close of MY24, who knows for sure, we've tasked some operatives to report back from the REVC.

It doesn’t seem like there are too many changes for 2025. Fake leather in the Lariat and Flash, probably a heat pump in more models, anything else?

Actually, I meant the '26 model year. Sorry about that.

With that tidbit, you can see the PINNED posts, model year 2025 order guide was published late August of 2024, maybe we will see the same for MY26 late this coming summer
