My local dealer has a pro mannequin. Towing package with 45k msrp and they are not marking it up. Goes for sale end of December, gets 7500 credit. I'm #2 on the list and are honoring first come, first serve, will not let me offer more to jump in line, which is fine. What would be a fair offer to the person ahead of me?

First, I'm surprised your dealer is giving you contact information for the other people on the list.

To answer your question...I would say $5k ADM would be what someone would pay and feel fair to pay for a Pro. That's what I would offer if you really want it. A $50k Pro with a tax credit is a steal.

Lol, it’s like the salesman that just texted me about a Civic Type R

“Car is here, customers are coming in. Don’t wait” lol

It kinda makes sense to sell everything they can before end of the year and replace with 23s next year. Just make sure the dealer GM is not a Nigerian prince.

Just remember that you need to be the first owner to claim the tax credit. If the dealership titled/registered the vehicle and are selling it as used, or if you buy it from the person in front of you, it will be used and not new and then you cannot claim the credit. Make 100% sure that it is being sold as new and you will be the first registered owner.

You will be offering the person in front of you some amount of money to forgo buying the truck and allowing you to buy it instead. So how badly does this person want the truck and do you think they'll be willing to wait.
A 2023 pro will be at least $12k more expensive MSRP (what is the likelihood that person #1 knows this), then you have to calculate in the change in tax credit as well (again how much does the other person know about this change). Although we don't know yet what the lightning will qualify for in 2023.

Myself, if I was first in line to buy the truck and I was fully prepared to purchase it, someone would have to offer me over $20k to pass on it. There's a high likelihood that it will be 2 years or more before the opportunity to get another pro trim truck will present itself and at that time who knows how much more expensive it will be or what government incentives will be available.

If you've got $10k+ to try to convince this person not to buy this specific truck, you can probably spend a little more on an XLT (2022 base XLT is $13k more than the base pro), or spend a lot less finding a pro further away and having it shipped (shipping should be less than $5k).
