I hooked up my small utility trailer for some errands around town. Probably only 1000 to 1500 pounds. Maximum speed was 60 heading back to the house. Averaged 2.5 miles per KWh. Lots of starts and stops. I didn’t restart Trip 1 for this use. Probably drove 20 miles on 8% of my SR battery.

Just a different perspective from the OMG posts 😀
Ford F-150 Lightning I pulled a trailer with my Lightning and it wasn’t a disaster F75A3EC8-9D40-42F2-80A3-66E8D81ED9F9

All about that aero. Not everyone is towing 11ft tall, 8ft wide travel trailers. Thanks for sharing!
Nor was I trying to travel at 80 MPH. I've pulled this utility trailer carrying a 4 wheeler with my wife's supercharged Q7 and watched the fuel economy go from 18.5 (no trailer at 80 mph) to 12 (this trailer at 80 mph).

This trailer has one of those expanded metal tailgate/ramps. several years ago I wacked off 2 feet of the ramp for aerodynamic improvements. The expanded metal ramp sticking straight up in the air has almost the same wind resistance as a sheet of plywood doing the same.

Speed is such a big part of range... just like ICE MPG, it takes a lot more energy to drive fast than it does to drive more conservatively.

I'm in NYC, where the speed limit is 50 on the highways, and 25 on most local roads, so I get crazy high range from my Standard Range battery.
