If you can’t get a 2023…

If you can’t get a 2022 or 2023 model year truck, do you buy the last year of 1st gen 2024?

If you can’t get a 2022-2023 is it worth putting the money down for a 2024 or wait until the 2nd gen truck is released for 2025?

If I can't get a 2023, I'll probably give up on the whole electric pick up thing. I don't absolutely need one, and the cost is bound to go way up. As it is, 2023 will have 3 separate price bumps from my point of view:
  1. With the current inflation we can expect 10-15% increase in MSRP
  2. Elimination of EV tax credit
  3. Big jump in AZ VLT

Maybe there should be an "other" option, because I honestly don't know what I would do.

I would need more information around the Gen 1 vs. Gen 2.

Neither. If I can't get a Lightning within about 12 months, I'll keep my ICE truck for times when it is needed and buy a Rivian R1S or consider a Kia EV9 as my daily driver. Or maybe even wait for the Porsche Macan EV. The BMW iX looks good too. By this time next year there will be many options.

If I can't get one by this time next year I will buy out the lease on my 2021 Lariat 2.7 and drive it till it dies.
