Bought a mannequin with about 2500 miles on it; here's my efficiency over the subsequent 3500 miles. I live about 1500 feet above town and between that and the big Mickey Thompsons I'm getting 1.2 mi/kw average... Not what I hoped for but still love this truck.

Tires will suck up the watts, but that's an average speed under 10 mph. Looks like there are a lot of kWh used for something other than driving showing up in that trip meter calculation.

I wonder what the tires are taking? Because whatever extra you use going up the 1500' I would think you would recapture some of it coming back down overall giving some of the extra back.

I don't recall, but your screen picture shows BC on, but not 1 pedal. Does the 1 pedal icon go away while in BC? Or are you not using it? For the elevation you have I would think you're missing out on some good regen.

Feel free to lightly ride the brakes going into town. You'll be regenerating power with the motor instead of engaging and overheating the disk brakes.

It’s obvious that you are going downhill amped out, head out the window & having a bangers screaming sing-a-long with Ozzy.

Not using 1-pedal, I prefer two and I though the word on the street was that there was little difference between the two modes in terms of regen... I can give one pedal a shot just don't love it.
Thanks for weighing in.

Yes, the truck is on a lot for running things camping (fridge and stuff) and for charging another EV. I didn't realize that the watts that ran through Pro Power would be included in this calc but I guess that makes sense. Thanks for the very valid observation!

We live 1000-1500 ft above almost everywhere we go. We run overall about 2.3 miles/kw. Lariat ER. I didn’t like 1 pedal driving, part when in reverse BUT decided it would allow quicker brake application so turned it back on. Now that I am used to it, I really like it. And maybe it gives me just a little more regen.

Of course the regen boost I get going downhill does not equal what I loose goi uphill. Not a surprise. G

I live in a valley and need to drive in excess of 1500ft to go in any direction. With the same amount of mileage I am averaging approx 2.6 miles/kw. I agree with the others that there seems to be a lot more going on than miles driven

If you don’t like it, put it in sport mode instead. It uses a more aggressive regen when you let go of the go pedal. I use the normal mode for less jerky drive and on steep declines just start to break early so I am not forced to use the break pads at the bottom of the hill.

However if you are juicing other EVs and especially if you are carrying a bunch of stuff up the mountain, that definitely uses up a lot of extra electricity. If you are taking a 1000 Ib load up the mountain and coming down empty, you are not getting that energy back in your regen.

You'll get the same regen with 2 pedal driving if you don't engage the friction brakes. Use the brake coach to figure out how much pressure to use if you don't want to use 1 pedal drive.

Okay, I'm going to delete this thread later tonight since the title is misleading given other folks experiences and my extensive use of Pro Power... using it for what it was meant for! Going rafting with it tomorrow, first time pulling the raft trailer, should be a breeze. :) Cheers all and thanks for the thoughts and logical conclusions.

Would a better solution be just to lock it from further comment? There may be others who find the discussion useful.

Maybe just change the title to “Don’t expect great efficiency numbers if you use a lot of ProPower.”
