I Feel like this thread should give an auto response of....your range will tank in winter...OTA updates are a total crapshoot...dealership responsiveness is highly variable...your battery module will fail (...or maybe not...at anywhere from 4%-100%...depending on who you ask)...there are a million thoughts on charging (only real consensus is don't go to 0% and avoid 100% consistently (or don't) - But search up MickeyAO for scientific research on the matter))...Ford Navigation totally sucks (only topic that is 100% agreement - get ABRP and PlugShare apps)...Guess O Meter (range estimate) is a liar...Tesla superchargers are the best (or not)....have a wrench handy to disconnect 12V for any problem you face (it works all the time 80% of the time)...and enjoy the hell out of the truck (or don't...and then complain incessantly about it's shortcomings)...

But in all seriousness...this an incredible forum with a ton of great information (both scientific and real world) with people who want to help one another.

Aloha from the Big Island of Hawai'i.
I bought my 2024 Lightning Flash sight unseen from a dealer on Oahu and had them install a spray-in bed liner before shipping it to me. It took a few weeks to reserve a slot in the barge to Hilo. Even though it usually takes only two days of sailing from Honolulu, it still required a few more days of pre and post shipping dockside logistics. Almost a month later, I finally received my new truck. Thankfully it all went well. I can’t be happier with the truck!
I look forward to learning from and sharing with everyone in this forum.

Greetings all,

Brought home a new 24 Lariat about 3 weeks ago. I have so many questions as this is my first Ford truck and first EV I have been owning/driving doge ram trucks since 2005 and updating about every 4 years but this beauty blows away the 5.7 ICE, and I was even given an extra 2k rebate when negotiating for this truck as a "RAM BUSTER" promotion which made it an even easier decision to purchase after the test drive. I was thrilled to find this forum and as I scroll through the threads I see many of the same questions I have. Looking forward to collaboration on tips and tricks and happy to find a place to ask questions.

Hey everyone! Excited to join the community! My name is Dustin, and I recently got a 2024 Ford Lightning Platinum. After researching EVs for a while, I finally made the switch, and I’m loving it so far.

I’m in Florida and own a home inspection business , so I’m always on the road and looking for ways to integrate the truck into my workflow. One of the biggest reasons I chose the Lightning was the Pro Power Onboard feature—I’m currently exploring how to use it as a backup power source for my home in case of outages.

Some things I’m currently working on:
Setting up a transfer switch to power my house with the truck
Learning the best charging setups for road trips
Finding great accessories to make the truck even better

I’d love to hear any tips from experienced owners—especially about power management, must-have accessories, and charging strategies. Looking forward to learning from you all!

You will want a NACS to CCS adapter for road trips. This will let you plug into a Tesla plug into the truck. If you don't get the Ford NACS to CCS adapter for level 3 charging. These brands are reputable. Lectron and A2Z.
