It cost me 18.47 times as much to fuel my old truck. This is AMAZING... :o

Using Emporia Vue I know my EV usage exactly each month, averaged low $40 per month, $500 a year. The total of the supply and delivery for electric varies from 5.5 cents to 8.5 cents each month. Gas for 12000 miles a year probably $2200. $1700 savings. The OP gas price is much higher ($3.70) and mpg (20mpg) much lower than my previous vehicle.

Oof. That stinks, environmental aside is it close to the gas/diesel prices by you?
My former F250 PSD running around 15MPG at current diesel prices of $3.839 / gallon [25.6 c/mile], the Lightning still takes an advantage plus all the intangibles that give me satisfaction to own the Lightning instead of the Power Stroke

That's a great calculator. Looks like I save about $5000 a year over driving my 4Runner.

Simple math:

Gas means > 40 cents per mile.
Electricity means 2 cents per mile.

We installed an 18kw solar array on our house that produces more electric than we use over the course of a year. Since 95% of my charging is at home, electrons cost me zero almost all of the time. Yeah, the solar wasn't cheap but it should pay for itself in less than 7 years.

Just hit 5000 miles this week. total cost for electricity was $207 ($0.12/kwh). 5000 miles on my Chevy Avalanche or my Silverado before that would have cost me about $833. (18mpg avg $3/gallon) . 1/4 the cost of gas.

My savings isn’t as good as yours. But on average it costs me a little under a nickel a mile. My other truck gets 15 mpg and gas rarely costs less than $5 a gallon here. That’s 33 cents a mile. Towing electric is just under 7 cents a mile, gas a whopping 55 cents a mile. My gas truck only gets used by my kids and friends otherwise it just sits next to my house…
Totally agree with you. I switched to an EV a year ago and was blown away by the difference in cost. Used to spend close to $300 a month on gas for my old SUV, now my electricity bill only went up by around $40. It’s like getting free money back every month. Plus, not having to hit the gas station all the time? I love it!
