Kudos to my local Ford dealer (Kendall Ford in Bend, OR)

I was a little overdue in getting my 20,000 mi service done. Plus, they notified me about 2 "recalls" or required software updates (or whatever the current euphemism is)...

So I booked an appointment, had to wait a few weeks but I know they are pretty busy...

I get a call a week or two ago from a service advisor telling me that they can do everything needed if they come to ME, instead of me coming there...

Sure enough, young guy comes up, finishes all the required service in about an hour, while I'm able to get other things done around the house...

Not only that, but when I realized he would need access to the OBD port, I removed the dongle I use for ABRP. The tech even thoughtfully plugged it back in for me when he was done...

You hear so many stories of crappy service these days, I thought I would give these guys a shout out...

I'm sure this is just an innovative solution to the fact that they have outgrown their service footprint, but I still thought it was pretty nice & convenient...

I have had a similar experience (twice) with Flammer Ford of New Port Richey, FL. I wonder if this will change when Ford stops paying the bill.

Perhaps I will drive to Bend from Portland for my next service. Unfortunately my service experiences with our local Ford dealer have not been as good. The at-home service guys did not have the correct knowledge or experience and did not complete the service and never provided documentation of what they were able to accomplish. This necessitated me scheduling an in-person visit. I know they can do better.

I have had similar experiences with Ford mobile service from Klaben Ford in Kent, Ohio.
If they need my truck at their shop, they will bring me a loaner, and collect my truck and then bring it back to me, and take their loaner back. No complaints, except they occasionally try to upsell me a wheel alignment check, which I don't see as necessary with only 20k miles.

I have used my dealership's pick-up drop-off service once and that went well. They did not offer me a loaner, but then I do have a spare car just in case.

When I had the service work done to my lightning in February at the dealer I bought if from, it was not my local dealer which I don't have a lot of faith in. It all went well, I asked about mobile service and was told there is a 20 mile radius for that. Hum, and I drove 45 miles, so mobile is out of the question for me...

My dealer is 39 miles away, and they don't mind providing mobile service, nor pickup-dropoff.
