It is now time to replace the original tires my MY22 Lariat came with. I have a contact who is selling some 315/70/17 BFGoodrich KO2‘s with a Bolt pattern of 6x135.

He took off his brand new MY24 Raptor. The rims are cool, but specifically I like the idea of getting the K02’s. A buddy has them on his bronco and is 60k into them and they still look great (Vs the 34k miles I am barely squeaking out of my original manufacter set).

I am curious if in the group could answer the following:

  1. Has anyone has put 17’s on thier lighning? Did it require a leveling kit or anything special?
  2. When addiing any size or rim change, does it slaughter the EV range?
  3. Any regrets with tire changes vs just sticking with what Ford recommends?

I have a 23 XLT with the 2022 Raptor 17”wheels 315/70/17. You will have to run 2.5” or 3” lift is my recommendation and you will need to run spacers on your front bumper like a 1/4 inch to a 1/2 inch and you will also need to trim out 6” of the Liner That’s towards the front door. I also had to cut out my front support bars. (I don’t remember the exact name) but if you’re willing to install these wheels you have to commit 100% also add on you will need 1 1/2 spacers. I have 10mm spacers in my garage I need to try out need.

I also have a Bronco and the KO2 are sweet looking and awesome for off-roading. However, the fuel range and speed have a huge affect on the Bronco. I can only imagine how much range loss they would add to a Lightning even if you were able to somehow get them to fit.
I recently replace my factory summer tires on the Lightning and I wanted to go for a beefy off-road tire. I went to Discount Tire to see my options and the nice off-road tires had a very low efficiency rating. I ended up going for a higher battery efficiency rated tire. Still was an all terrain tire which I ended up still liking.
I know for some, the decrease in range may not matter. For me, I prefer the highest range I can get.
Just something to think about.

it seems like going with anything else besides EV Rated tires the range is a big impact on these trucks. That’s a huge factor. Thankfully we have a hybrid SUV so I’m ok with my Range.

Very nice looking! How have they affected your range?
