Ok I read in the article that the Tesla adapter is USA built. But where can you actually buy one of these besides rivian who says it’s made in china?

I know for a fact that final assembly of the SuperTap's is done in the US.
They do not try and fool anyone, they state "most of the assembly is done overseas" to save costs.
I have been to their facility in Goleta, California.
I personally saw the CNC mills and lathes making parts for the SuperTap and TeslaTap.
TeslaTap is a small business and if anyone wants to stop by their location in California, they are happy to give you a tour so you can see for yourself.

What makes you think that the adapter that Rivian is selling is made in the US?
They are actually made in China for Tesla by (withheld) and then sold to Rivian.
The only adapter I know of in the US is the SuperTap from TeslaTap.

As much as I despise the current crop of clowns responsible for these Tariffs the easy answer is just to buy one from Rivian. $250 in the gear shop and it's made here

Pretty much everything electronic is made in China or Asia generally, as well as many building materials made out of metal (brackets, straps, etc. for holding 2x4's etc. together).

Wood comes primarily from Canada. Drywall from Mexico. So new home construction is going to get more expensive due to those tariffs. So glad I cashed out my retirement accounts before all this idiocy started!

They say around 33% of electronics are made in China. Next up Taiwan and S. Korea.

The US is mostly in the design and development of electronics, the US has about 4% of the manufacturing.

But chip maker INTEL has new foundries being built in Az and OH, but they are still years away.

My business has products produced in China as there are no companies able to do the work in the United States (and I searched for more than 6 months all over the country). In 2008 alone more than 2000 machine shops closed their doors forever in Ohio alone. When the jobs left so did the expertise of machinists and tool and die makers. That expertise is now in Asia.

Tariffs were created and approved by Congress on an annual basis and there is a Harmonized Trade Schedule that is published once each year. What is new is having the president disregard the laws and start arbitrarily charging tariff fees on whim and for retribution and changing his mind on a daily basis. It is in effect a national sales tax and the largest tax increase on American consumers in the history of the United States.

This new revenue will be used as an excuse to extend the $4 trillion in tax cuts for the affluent elites and the corporations that fund the Republican Party members.

I worked at a pattern shop in the early 2000’s it is owned by my godfather. It is one of the few in the US. The plan for years was for his son to take over, he’s been working there nearly 20 years. Plans now are to shut it down in a few years when the father retires.
