Has any install a manual switch (single load) to a sub panel last is powered by Truck's ProPower 24o outlet? Thinking to have a Generac 6333(60 A) install between main panel 60 A breaker and sub panel. See attached pic for wire diagram. Has this worked or any concerns (sub panel has N and G separate)?

I don't think that transfer switch switches the neutral. The truck will see the neutral-ground bond at the main panel as a ground fault and will not supply power. The Lightning is picky about this and needs a transfer switch that also switches the neutral.

And then some inspectors will complain about where does the ground come from in that situation, since the truck is then the bonding point but does not have its own ground rod. Lots of threads about this.

There are a few ways to make it work but I'm not sure what the "best" way is to be as safe as possible.

Thanks good information and advice, and you are right it does not switch Neutrals. Is their other manual switchs that does that? Just think that sub panel has what need I need, so just powering that with the Lightning would be ideal. I will certainly use a licence electrician, just want to my options.

for my 'Direct from the truck to the NEMA 14-50 inlet' power to the home, the 8/3SOOW cord has the ground wire, but I removed the Ground PRONG to allow the truck to not 'fault'.
Works great, and used it for 'whole house' power just this Friday after the Hurricane...

I turn off my Main Panel's breaker, and manage my usage when the truck is providing power.
It's the easiest and least confusing of all the options, though most will not want to do this. I know about electricity, and how to deal with it, and am comfortable with it. Most others will want a manual switch/sub-panel for their chosen 'circuits', but I choose to truly have the WHOLE HOUSE powered, and use what parts of it I need to.

I used a lock out mechanism and feed the entire panel from the truck instead of a dedicated panel and like it a lot. If you decide to go with the dedicated Generac panel, I have one and if you want to go the other route, check out:

Thank you for the link. You mentioned this - "From what I've gathered, because the generator is not permanent, there is no need for a transfer switch, I suppose I'll find out" Did you get it inspected?
I like this solution if it is allowed.

Not yet inspected but the solution works fine. I will have the electrician call the inspector and let you know!
