No idea how smoothly the new process is working, but under the old program, I submitted my documents on 8/23/2022, they approved it around 9/5/2022, after some prodding by email, I got a confirmation that I was approved later at the end of September, and the check arrived on Halloween 10/31/2022, overall about 2 months, but others had quicker processing & pay out's.

Great, thanks. I’m assuming the new program will be similar, the requirements changed but processing is still the same people. I’m trying to figure out how long I need to float the $7,500 in my loan. The interest rate is a killer.

I was looking at the MORE EV program today for a likely Tesla Model Y purchase and saw the $7500 incentive for the Lightning and thought about this thread. Funny that a few hours later I get email notification.

I got 36 panels of solar on my roof, so now it makes sense to buy another EV. Looks like I could do a small battery Lightning for about the same price as the Y Long Range, but I think the Y will better suit our current needs since I still have a work truck.

Used vehicles have severe limitations, so your purchase will not qualify.

I ended up using the point of sale MORE-EV $3500 rebate at Tesla yesterday on my new Y long range.

My dad is looking to buy a pickup now, and since we have the surplus solar he’s shopping the Lighting Flash model. It looks like the rebates now are $7500 for any Lightning regardless of 8450# or the heavier GVWR? There is a dealership advertising $15K off MSRP, so add another $15,000 in state and federal incentives and it appears the Flash would be in the $41K plus taxes and fees range. That’s a damn good value if the dealer will actually honor it.
