Is there a way to know what the actual temperature of the battery is when this protection begins?
I don't have an OBD2 plug, but overnight garage temperature was around 22°

Yesterday's highest outside temp reached about 30°

I’ve come to the conclusion that unless your commute is over 100 miles or you’re gonna be drag racing right away in the morning and need full HP, preconditioning isn’t worth the kilowatts.

I’ve had one morning recently where I cold soaked to -28° and woke up with 80% of charge with 80 miles of range and only 23% available power, but my commute is less than 5 miles and in town so unless this is hurting the battery, so what? I was laughing at the guys with gas vehicles that wouldn’t start that morning and mine was already toasty warm before I went outside

Completely agree, but as a retired bureaucrat who likes to analyze stuff, I'm curious what these values are, previous experiments have already convinced me that battery conditioning isn't needed for the majority of my short trips.
