I've had the F-150 Lightning XLT package for 2 days and I am absolutely loving it! I came from a Tesla but really wanted to get back into a pickup truck .

A few questions if someone will indulge me as I'm learning how the lightning works .
-do all trim levels of the Lightning have the ability to use the phone as a key? I cannot find that option in the Ford app.

-is it possible to see the download speed I'm getting while charging while inside the truck on the info screen?

-owning an EV before this truck I am accustomed to cold weather lessening the range. However, the Guess O Meter is only showing 175ish miles fully charged. Standard battery. Does that sound correct. It's cold. 32 degrees.

I'm sure more questions will come. Thank you for helping.

1) No. XLT does not.
2) No. But open FordPass and you can see it, with the decimal place truncated. If you charge for say 30 minutes, you can then take the total energy and divide by time, and see the actual rate. Or, you can buy an OBD reader and use the Car Scanner app.
3) It takes time to adjust for your driving. Figure about 1.2 - 1.3 miles per kilowatt and see how you do.

In comparison Tesla to Lightning insurance how is it? Quotes I got for Tesla Y are $1k more per 6 months but Lightning would be $180 more per 6 months.

20% lose in cold weather is what I saw on my 2021 SR Mach-E and similar in my 2023 ER XLT now. Definitely at 32 degrees you are cold weather. Be advised that high wind is even worst. Yesterday was an extreme weather day with wind 15 to 20 gusts to 55! Going south into this was 1.6 mpk, coming back k with tail wind, 2.1 mpk. I drove 76 miles yesterday and my GOM went down 148 miles in Huntsville to Lake Guntersville area. I'm not shocked and expected it to be that bad.

You don't want phone as a key, Ford has terrible software quality, mine in the Mach-E was unreliable for 30k miles. I'm very happy with less tech in the xlt and actually hvac controls. I also refuse to turn on OTA, that messed up my Mach-E to the point the dealership couldn't figure it out.

Also I won't hold your issues as a Volt fan against you, Roll Tide:)

I had a 21 model 3. My insurance for the Lightning is $5 different per month.

Congrats on the new ride! If you have any other questions, your dealer would be a great resource. Enjoy!

Keyless entry is at the top of the options I wish I had list.
The lighting- it’s pretty incredible.
As far as the GOM and predicted range- any interstate driving and it plummets. The cold weather certainly isn’t helping.
Enjoy- welcome to the forums!

I got my Lightning at the beginning of December, 1600 miles of short drives (never charged anywhere but home) and have never used a key, strictly phone as a key, no problems...

What trim level do you have? Apparently my XLT is not capable of this feature?? I loved this with my Tesla.
