I'd like to point out that Avis Ford in Michigan will be MSRP or A/Z for all Ford Lightning Customer Reservations. Similarly, on our Bronco's. Please do not let a dealership scam you on your order - they would never have this vehicle if it wasn't for you making the commitment to them.

EDIT: Watch out for ridiculous add-ons either, you may be getting MSRP - but also $500 for a set of wheel locks -.-

Im so happy i cancelled my Lighting reservation early in the summer. I was reading above text just for kicks - what a f mess. I feel bad for all the reservation holders who actually want this vehicle, you’re in for a lot of frustration, dealer speculation, price gouging and whatever else will come with this experience.

Ford had a chance here to simplify the buying process via first come first serve methodology and all they did here was create a mess for themselves and their customers.

This ordering system seems pretty straight forward and simple. Ford seems to have learned from their Bronco and Mach E models. I'm not a dealer but if I had customers who had purchased several vehicles from me I would tend to give them the priority as there more of a sure thing. A reservation holder only has $100 in the game and many will decide not to wait or change their minds as you noted in your post. Now if a few more cancel that will bump the rest of us up the line.

communication has been fine. It is the impatience of folks here.
Ford said orders will start in fall and deliveries in spring. Everything else has been speculation including hoopla about Oct date.
Now, they have communicated to the dealers that order banks will open in Jan.
Sit back and relax…

Communication is fine how? Unable to say what reservation number I ? Denying they received any notice from Ford until I called them out? If you think that communication is good I hope you don’t work in the communication field.

Heard back from Chapman just now, confirmed no prioritization and I am currently #3.

I'm sure they are getting hammered with inquiries, so I've promised not to bother them again until it's time for me to order.

Here is a new one for you.

Yesterday my dealership was sold and Ford refunded my $100 but said my reservation would not be affected.

The new dealer said everything was OK but could not say more but Stand By.

That happened to me last year with my Bronco reservation. The reservation should get transferred to the new owner of the dealership. Then up to them if they request a deposit. It took a couple months for the process to complete, only because the new owner wasn’t aware of all the FoMoCo processes.

After I noticed it says the Platinum comes with an Ecoboost, I stopped trusting the rest of the info as well.

Wow I didn't even catch that. I was too struck by sticker shock and estimated delivery dates. Let's hope that page is just placeholder information until the real numbers, specs and release dates are available.

Prioritization does not guarantee allocation. Dealer prioritization will be an input to​

determine invitations to convert to an order, it is not correlated to vehicle scheduling​

timing or amount of allocation at each dealership.​
