I think some of the raised blood pressure "issues" with these online forums come from the fact people join these platforms and discussions looking for a community of people who are willing to have kind, open discussions, and look for help. While I'd argue most people do indeed want to help or offer a solution to a problem, there are those who find it necessary to make others feel dumb for asking a question, that they shouldn't want to have that functionality or to "go read the manual". Not taking into consideration that maybe they have read the manual. Maybe the have pushed every single button in the app and in the truck looking for a solution to their specific problem, then turn to the forum for advise or a solution they didn't think about. Not to mention that I think we all hope @Ford Motor Company reads these forums and considers their requests for upcoming releases in their next software update or V2 of the vehicle. I'll acknowledge, you're never going to please everyone. I might want to choose between a 5, 10 or 30 second running board retraction delay, but the next guy might not even have running boards so he doesn't care. Does that mean the idea is stupid? No. Just because someone else is looking for a solution to something you don't think is a problem, doesn't make them wrong.

Cold snowy winter days are meant for READING THE EFFN MANUAL. [/RANT]

My apologies for being a bit blunt & short, I guess I'm getting a bit burned out with the nit pick complaints about gen-1 Lightning, I think it's a fantastic product and Fordpass with all it's quirks and growing pains must be functionally useful for not only BEV products but 100's of ICE products.

I don't know what your vehicle use history has been, if you're a Tesla conquest customer or a blue blooded Ford guy like me, but I can say that the majority of negative opinions about functionality are coming from other brand fans, yes they offer features to make the driving experience "better", eventually FoMoCo will come around.

Adapt and overcome is my moto, as others mentioned above, I literally have two alarm clock settings on my phone for reminding me to push the remote start button in FP, might seem to be to laborious for some but it's all I got until improvements are made to how departure timer, trip planner and even remote start work, add a few options [on/off] switches here and there and it's improved.

BOOM, it's 12:46 time to remote start my Lightning!

Go to settings in the truck and set it to auto, at that temp the seats should come on as well as the wheel (if equipped)

For those of us in the more southern climes, we might go to bed and it's 70 something and the next morning it's in the 50's... day after that we might be pushing 80 so having to do this from the cab isn't worth it (not the least of which the weather predictions around here are rarely on target)... so yes having it in the app would be nice... 🙃

But that's the whole point of setting everything to auto. On an 80° day the A/C will kick on with remote start. On a 50° morning the heat will kick on. Without you having to change anything.

Yes! I vote for that too, a "Precondition Now" button in the app!!!
You know, I've changed my mind on this.

There are other threads that point out the cost/benefit of the electricity use to Precondition for daily driving just doesn't make sense. (I live in Northern Ontario, after I go to work and the truck sits a bit not plugged in, my batteries will often show me only 80% power - BUT WHO CARES?) The only time it DOES make sense is if you are going to go on a TRIP, in which case you would want to hit your "Charge to 100%" button for that anyhow (even if you don't WAIT for the whole 100% charge-up). So, maybe a "Precondition Now" button isn't needed. My humble thoughts.
