Order Compatibility Issue: Heated Steering Wheel

I have a 8/24 order for a 23 Lariat ER that has yet to be scheduled. I called Ford yesterday for a second time to see if there was any hold ups. They said my order had a compatibility issued and to reach out to my dealer. After reaching out to my dealer they said that the holdup was I would have to delete the heated steering wheel to move forward through the process. I know there was the memo to dealerships about this for 23 F150s but I had yet to read anywhere about if Lightnings would be affected. Looks like that’s the case indeed. Not sure I’m willing to pay that kind of money for a truck without the heated steering wheel and smart scales/hitch.

There is confusion on these forums regarding this as some has stated it doesn't affect the Lightnings. Thanks for the updated info.

Like all things Lightning no one knows. Why are the updates being sent to dealers not specifying models and trims? Like I've stated in other posts my dealer told me the heated mirror delete wasn't an option for my XLT SR 311A. Which doesn't include the heated steering wheel.

Some transparency from Ford with clear breakdowns of affected items would be great so we could be proactive and so our dealer for once be informed on how to HELP US instead of forum members helping them. Direct to consumer would be amazing

Just spoke to Ford, my order says scheduled week of 11/7. They were able to give me my build day for 11/9. I have zero compatibility issues, I was told once you are scheduled, all the parts for the truck are acquired and just waiting to be put together. Seems like I should have the heated steering wheel. Not sure about the people still waiting to be scheduled.

While I was in the dealer today trading our Lariat SR and ordering a '23 Lariat ER, he showed me the memo about the heated steering wheel issue. He wouldn't print it, but essentially all Lightnings effected by the delete will get them back at a later date when parts become available. I'm in Canada, so maybe it's different in the states. However, a heated steering wheel in an EV in Canada is a necessity.

Perhaps at some point they’ll remove enough content that the ER XLT goes under 80k unfortunately they give us so little back for the deletions…
