while we're on this topic, and since the XLT i have on order was never going to come with a heated steering wheel, anyone have an add on heated steering wheel wrap that they like? maybe the Lariat+ people can use it temporarily too.

The heated wheel is a nice feature, and it is a bit better than the one in our Bolt. However, it is nowhere near as warm as our volvos. XC40 EV>xc90 phev ice operating>lightning>xc90 phev EV only>bolt. The volvos have multiple levels of heating on the wheel. Level 3 is for short trips and when wearing gloves. Can the heating intensity be adjusted with forescan? It is a bummer that ford can't make these trucks and cars with all of the features advertised.

Rumors appear to be true. My window sticker for MY23 blend date of 10/21 shows a $140 credit for heated steering wheel removal.

I will take the upgraded heated seats in my pro over losing heated mirrors.

Good catch, I see it as well. Maybe the heated mirrors will still be included, guess we will soon see

I wouldn't worry too much about the heated steering wheel. Seems they only heat for about 10 minutes anyways.

I would be upset if my $80k+ CAD truck didn't include a heated steering wheel. I have a feeling they will be included for all Canadian models or their would be a polite backlash. /s

It may not permanently stay on but it get's pretty toasty to start, by the time the heat fades the cabin is warmed up enough for my liking.

I have read that many times, maybe that is part of the decision for the removal.

The following article, mentions a future Field Service Action to restore heated wheel functionality, so it might be the issue relates to a supporting component instead of the wheel its self !!

https://fordauthority.com/2022/10/2023-ford-f-150-lightning-production-axes-heated-steering-wheel/

However, Ford will announce a Field Service Action in the future to restore heated steering wheel functionality, though it’s unclear at this time when that might be. Ford is making this temporary change in an effort to deliver customer vehicles more quickly.

It depends on how long you're driving. It cycles on and off through a range of heat. On my 1 hour commute you can tell it warms and cools but never turns completely off. Unless I precondition the truck. Then, for whatever reason, it never comes back on. Hopefully a future update fixes it.

On the 2015 through 2020 there was a setting where you could make it hotter or cooler. I haven't checked the Forscan thread to see if it's still there, but if possible you can always change it. I did for my 2018 that I added the heated wheel.

It is a total removal of heated wheel. Or the necessary hardware is still there and ford will just put in the chip(or necessary missing part) in the future and we will have a heated steering wheel ?

Looking by just 140$, it appears like the hardware is still there.. a heated steering wheel option can not just cost 140.

For my mach e they removed Park Assist(which will parallel park itself) for 325 credit. But dealer said ford will install for free once they get the chips(I never use it so not worried about it)

Yeah, ours is the same. I've had 5 vehicles with the park assist. I've used it once in a parking lot, just to see how it worked. The 360 degree camera reduces the active park assist to an unnecessary party trick.

The heated wheel, on the other hand, is a must for the wife and I. I wouldn't buy another vehicle without it.

Is there a way to report issues like that? seems like you found a very specific and repeatable problem and it would be nice to point it out.

The only way I would know is take it to the dealer and they contact Ford requesting a resolution.
