So I had my truck in for a battery module replacement. I asked them to update to 1.4 and that was on the loaner I was driving. They said they couldn't. They had someone onsite from FORD who said they would be rolling 1.4 out in 3 phases whatever that means and they were currently in phase 1. I was told my VIN was in phase 3
@Ford Motor Company what say you?

Looks like that is going to be difficult for me...lol

Interesting... I've never done any of the censoring crap on here so did not realize that was a possibility. The comment another member made was referring to part of the thread stating it sure would be nice if Ford actually communicate things like this.

Instead we get "sweet" upgrades like Karaoke and then have Ford come on here a dangle new features on front of us that the 2024 and 2025's got but provide complete ambiguity as to whether they will come to older vehicles via OTA.

I just returned from a trip where I charged at mostly Tesla SuperChargers, a few EAs. I hit peak speeds of 193kW per EA (in Bozeman), the other 3 EA sessions were 180 and 182. I saw speeds of 182 or so at Tesla SuperChargers.

Rick, you have way more DCFC experience than I do but am I correct in my belief that the trucks seemingly used to peak between 170 & 179?

See post 131. 🤣

Thanks for testing, yes report back please.
Here is the session summary. Averages out to 134 but I didn't get to the truck right at 80% (after 80% SOC the usual 54 kw speed).

The net session was 16-83% as we are trying to use KIA credit that expires 2/13.

Tesla SCs do rip on the Ford EVs. Although, my wife is doing an Elon boycott, so not using on our upcoming FL trip (even rerouting as you can't cut through WV efficiently unless you use Tesla SCs)

Although inconvenient, her logic is sound as an unelected official should not be running our country.

That would be a great point, if not it being fairly obvious 46 was not exactly running the show during the last 4 years

My key word was 'elected' but best to stop any political commentary at this point.

Staff isn't elected, but I agree, I'll stop. Just could not let it go without retort.

FYI... both sides of the 50/50 split exist on this forum. Should not be treated like an echo chamber

Way I see it is this:

For now, it's a free country - and if you want your electrons to not be doing weird things with their hands, you can go some other place ;)

FWIW, the thing I'm most looking forward to is a pre-heating function for the battery pack. I know the newer 24s have it, but I'd love to have a button to pre-heat the pack for fast charging. Having it tied to route planning is a bit... as we used to say in the UK, Naff.

The 24's have manual precondition of battery? That's first I've heard that if Im understanding your statement correctly.

Agreed on preconditioning. My EA charge noted above was simply switching from AA to Ford Nav, putting in the EA station and HOPING it preconditioned. We have a 2022 Ioniq 5 that basically has check box (that often unchecks itself after you do anything in the menu) and a small 'heating coil' indicator over the battery icon when it is preconditioning. This is only slightly better.

The new 2025 Ioniq 5s do have a 'manual' precondition check box. This is the only true way to guarantee at least some battery heating occurs. Still there are issues with when it shuts down preconditioning to save range (I think the current BMS on the Hyundai does it at 17-20%). I'd have to assume with the charging curve I got today that some preconditioning happened on the Lightning.

In my experience, it's the CHARGER that gives you the speed. In other words, if it's an newer EA charger, you get a higher max than an old EA charger. Last March I hit 194 in Rawlins, WY.

The EA app shows the highest speed hit. Tesla app doesn't, nor does Ford, so if you don't watch you'll miss it (either on an EA display or with Car Scanner).

I also confirmed that my 2022 doesn't precondition to any charger. Eagerly awaiting 10.0.1.
