My last vehicle was a sports car and when I put it in reverse it would show the rear view camera display, but also the passenger side mirror would tilt down ward. It did this so you could see the curb or parking space easier with out relying on all the fancy cameras.

I bring it up as I would love to have this feature on my truck since it's a huge PiA to park. Is there a toggle switch for this I am missing or possibly a way to set this up in forscan?

Thanks in advance this forum is amazing!

My wife's Lexus RX350 had this and it was a huge convenience to be able to see down. I don't think there is a setting for this on the Lighting that I've been able to find. Best bet might be to get one of those concave mirrors that you stick on. There's also the blind spot cameras you can manually toggle but I find that to be a hassle. Or do what I do and do the old stick-your-head-out-the-window maneouver, lol

I had this feature on another car from a while back. It was fairly useless and at times downright unsafe as your view was cut for backing up.

Workaround: Setup button 3 with the mirrors positioned the way you want them for parking. Hit the button when you need to park.

My XC90 has this feature. I tried it once and turned it off. With Ford’s 360 cameras, it’s not needed anyway (unlike the Volvo).

Exactly what I did when I bought the Lariat in 2022... did the same with my 2021 ICE Platinum before I traded it in.

Went ahead and set this up as an alternate way to lower both mirrors. I park in a tight drive way and the mirrors really help me to make sure I line up with more accuracy I feel then the camera system alone especially while backing up next to the wife's vehicle.

I also set it so that my power running boards will stay out in this configuration to help prevent some unwanted door dings. If you have them equipped.

That's a great idea. I had this feature in my Model Y...it actually moved both mirrors. Sometimes it was unhelpful, but those times were rare, and most of the time it was very helpful.

The thing I didn’t like when I tried it was backing into my garage. The mirrors tilted down to show me bare concrete when I needed to see the stuff behind me.

Yeah...I just used it to supplement the cameras. The backing up picture I get from my Lightning is way better, but I'd still like to have the downward mirrors for parallel parking, to see the curb more clearly (especially when the weather masks the cameras).

My long-term 2025 XC90 service loaner has the 360 camera. It’s very nice. The EX90 camera/radar system is very cool in that it also tells you the distance from a wall as you are pulling into a parking spot. Hopefully, Ford will pick up on that.

All of the reverse tilt mirrors I've had all you had to do was adjust them while in reverse to where you needed them - tilt them up a bit and they will retain where you set them in reverse.

Ford had tilting mirrors a few years back. Many tried to get them working via Forscan and have never found a way for the current gen trucks at least.

The 2025s got an entirely new technology package from what I understand. My 24 is pretty primitive compared to Sync 4A, even.

I believe that the new technology package is for the 2025.5 XC90.
