I know I'm not crazy because it's happened more than a few times ... I'll get a double "ding" alert tone, but there will be nothing on either display to indicate why I heard the tones. It's happened over many software updates, so I don't think it's to do with a specific update. I would say it happens maybe once every couple of weeks, but no rhyme or reason as to why.

Anyone else getting these or ever had them, or have any other insight?

Thanks!

May be the navigation app. It follows your trends and will ping when you start up your truck and it will suggest a destination

You could be onto something!
Occasionally, when I get in the truck to go somewhere, it will randomly tell me the traffic delay is XX minutes, but I have not set a destination or use navigation because I generally know where I am going!

It's the "everything is fine" chime. Don't worry about it.*
Is that like Homer Simpson's "Everything's Okay" alarm which will continue sounding so long as everything is okay? lol

There doesn't seem to be any consistency with it - I had already gone into the nav to disable certain warnings and alerts (like speed / red light cameras, etc) but who knows.

Glad I'm not the only one, and no ... I wasn't worried, just curious. :)

Is the sound happening while driving?

The past 2 days this occurred. Yesterday on the way to work and today on the way home. It reminds me of the early days of OTA updates where I would get some glitches on the instrument cluster screen and random tones and after I was done driving or hours later after a restart, or the next morning, I would get the notification that there was an update.

Last update was the windows module on the 10th. And I have noticed since that update the truck sounds like it's unlocking or locking when I am with in a cars length of distance and not completely making my way to the truck. For example I am parked in my garage and on the other side of another car or in a parking a lot and a car away talking with a co-worker. This reminds me of when I first got the truck and had the approach light feature on which I have turned off and kept off. Since the windows update the truck "awakens" and makes a few clicks. I will check it out tomorrow to see if indeed I have walkaway locks of some sort with the fob.

Yesterday's craziness warning as I was in a parking lot almost down to a stop and I heard the tones and a fast flash screen warning stating something like cruise control was not available or some thing like no longer activated, meanwhile during the trip I didn't even use cruise control and my hands were no where near the wheel buttons and there were no vehicles even close by. I thought perhaps just a glitch.

On the way home from work I got a random multiple tone and no flashes on the screen. It's like when you start the truck and you don't have your seatbelt buckled yet.

I did install the new Ford pass update yesterday and possibly the glitch yesterday and the one today are not related and today's is related to the Ford pass update.

I also noticed that the new Ford pass app right now cannot access the details of this past windows update.

Tomorrow, as some of you have coined, is update Thursday. :teehee:

I have experienced this too. On a few occasions I’ve noticed a small banner at the top of the screen that says “traffic and alerts” or something like that. It flashes for a literal second and then is gone. But it’s not every time, so your guess is as good as mine! My 5 year old thinks it’s the truck saying hi to her, so there’s that ?

Might be 'way off base here, but... I used to get a chime and a visual alert when I had Carplay connected and a text message came in. Now I seem to only get the chime unless the Message app is on the display.

???

If on Blue Cruise or assisted cruise control, my truck gives me a chime if either is interrupted by road conditions. For example, one section of a 2 lane I frequently drive on has a series of S-turns in which assisted cruise control is temporarily suspended. As the cruise control is suspended, the truck produces a chime. Similarly, some road conditions will temporarily suspend Blue Cruise. For example, near an exit ramp where the lines are faded, the truck will chime and Blue Cruise will be temporarily suspended. In these case the truck is alerting me to the suspension of either cruise control or Blue Cruise.

Of course there are other times when it chimes and I have no idea why…

Got a “random” alert this morning during my commute, flipped over to the built-in nav and, sure enough, there was a traffic alert on the screen. Interesting because I was using my phone’s nav at the time. It looks like these alerts can be disabled in the nav’s settings.

This is what I had going on when I first got my truck. If you dig into the settings within the Navigation screen, you can turn off all the alerts. I think there is one for traffic and another for red light cameras. There might be more that I am forgetting, but if you turn them off you shouldn't hear them anymore. It drove me nuts for a few weeks.
