Which dealer in MD are you buying from?I didn't know. I just Googled it and it looks like we are paying taxes both in PCO and trad-in in MD.

I'm in MD too, just curious, nothing about the lawsAre you saying different dealers apply MD laws differently? Are you in MD?
Did you pay Tax to that $7K or it was deducted from total first and you pay tax on the actual cost of the truck to you?
They never explicitly confirmed their rep told them how to do it. I told them how it was SUPPOSED to be done and they said no. They said they’d contact their rep in the morning and get back to me.@tsszen
Wow ! What an ordeal!
Glad it all worked out and Villa Ford has learned something.
Good to know that Ford regional manager helped to get the price protection up front.
While my '22 Lightning never had this issue; I do have a '23 MME incoming that will get a $6K PCO plus price protection so I may need the regional rep's contact info!
You are looking for this screen capture:I need to stop watching this thread, I'm getting really apprehensive about my (hopefully) upcoming delivery.
I have a situation similar to lots of folks here, May 2021 reservation for a Pro, got pushed back to a 2023 model, August 2022 order date, and now a January build date. So I should be looking at a price $12k less than current pricing.
The only indication I got that the original pricing would be honored was a message that popped up on my screen during the online order process. And of course I didn't do a screen shot, and when I backtracked and tried to find it I couldn't. So no emails, nothing in writing. When I look at my order on the Ford web site it shows it with the current base model pricing ($51,974), and that seems to be what others are seeing as well. Once I get closer to a delivery date I'll contact the dealer. I've learned a lot here so hopefully it will go smoothly.
On a side note, I was at the local Tesla service center last week picking up winter wheels and tires for my Model 3. In the time I was there (~40 minutes) I watched them do three new car deliveries. The longest one took maybe fifteen minutes.
That's the one! Thanks!!You are looking for this screen capture:
@tsszen Oh man that would be incredible. When I drove by yesterday I did see an Avalanche Pro getting unloaded off a truck but it did not have the 360 camera or ultrasonic sensors so it likely wasn't mine. According to my tracker its still in transit. Fingers crossed though.@KurtsRPMGarage don’t want to get your hopes up but I just stopped by the dealer (had a small scratch that I’ll need to get buffed out) and there were AT LEAST 3 Lightnings that Tony said just came in last night and we supposed to be customer deliveries!
If they upped your trade in offer to offset the taxes and you paid cash for the rest it basically ends up the same as long as you eventually get the refund. If you financed you’d be paying interest on that extra 5k but it would be somewhat marginal. It still boggles my mind that this is an issue for people. They told me the same thing as they did to you and I just refused that accept that as an answer. However, if they call me back yesterday morning and said that they still wouldn’t honor it up front I wouldn’t have had any other choice. At least they made an attempt to offset the extra cost to you I suppose. So Mac Haik Georgetown Tx, held to the 7K PCO was good to go. After battling for 3 hours about the 5K they said that there regional manager said there is no grantee on the 5K but they will submit it and send me whatever ford sends them. I was told before I went in that this is how they would handle it and they held to it. This was on a my22 converted to my23 Pro
I bitched about the extra tax that I would be paying on that 5K so they did up my trade in offer 300 more than it was at to cover it.
With the trade I ended up paying cash for the remainder of the Lightning.
After I got out of finance my Sales rep said the regional manager called back and I have 2 codes for rebates the 7K and another one that they said they could not say for how much so he is sure I will get something.
I guess I should not bitch about how long it takes to make a transaction at the dealership because I always fight as hard as I can to get the best price I can. If I were to plop down the cash and not bicker about trade in it would go fairly fast lol.
The Lightning is great other than I am going to have range anxiety for a while. I do miss adaptive cruise and hands free unlock but I am sure I will get used to using my phone to unlock and "start" the lightning.
Everyone was nice enough and I did not get thrown out Like I have several times in the past lol.
One I saw had the front light bar and one had the rear light bar, so those wouldn’t be pro models. I did see one light gray (not sure what color ford calls it) that didn’t have the rear light bar so that one could possibly be a pro@tsszen Oh man that would be incredible.
