Time will tell with aftermarket options, but is anyone aware if there is wiring available to add the light at and grill from a Lariat or XLT to a Pro?

I plan on figuring this out as soon as parts catalog and wiring diagrams become available. Hopefully next week. I want to put the light on my black pro.

Ditto for the light bar on the back.

I'm getting an XLT with the 312A upgrade, which says it includes the "Power Tailgate with Signature Lighting", but from what I know, that doesn't actually mean it has the light bar.

I believe you just get the front light bar on the XLT.

I know. It's pretty silly. The XLT with 312A runs about $64,000, just short of the Lariat price. That description of the "Signature Lighting" that is included in my 312A upgrade is confusing. What exactly is Signature Lighting? If it's not the light bar... what do they call the lighting on the Lariat and Platinum?

Like the OP said, I hope they have harnesses for those who want to add things like that.

What made you decide on the XLT versus the Lariat?

Little stuff, like cloth seats and screen size.

I already have the 15" screen in the Mach-E. While I definitely like it, I really like the idea of getting physical buttons for the seat temperature, HVAC, etc.. Ideally I'd like to have both, but the bigger screen takes up too much space for that.

The only thing I'm going to miss is the power rear window, which I think should be standard on a $64,000 truck. It was a dirt cheap option on my last XLT, but you simply can't order it for an XLT.

I found the following floating around somewhere. It may or may not be accurate.

Reversing Lamps - Electric Vehicles Only

When the transmission is placed in REVERSE, the tailgate, LH and RH reversing lamps are illuminated. With the tailgate closed, LH and RH reversing lamps are not visible.

Headlamps - Electric Vehicles Only

The LED headlamp system consists of non-replaceable low and high beam Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) in each headlamp assembly. The top and bottom headlamp Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) are for the low and high beam headlamp function. The front turn lamp, side marker lamps and LED DRL/front parking lamps are non-replaceable Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) mounted in the headlamp assembly

When the LH steering column multifunction switch is pulled briefly, the high beam Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) briefly illuminate for the flash-to-pass function. If the LH steering column multifunction switch is pushed into the high beam position and released, the high beam Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) illuminate until the LH steering column multifunction switch is pushed into the high beam position and released again.

The LED headlamps are equipped with adaptive front lighting. Depending on the inputs received (steering wheel angle and vehicle speed for example), the HCM can command the angle at which the headlamps are aimed (left or right) to improve nighttime visibility around curves. Adaptive front lighting is only activated when the headlamp switch is in the AUTOLAMPS position.

The adaptive front lighting adjusts the bottom headlamp lens horizontally when the steering wheel is rotated and when the following conditions are met:

  • The headlamp switch is in the AUTOLAMPS position and the autolamps feature has turned the exterior lamps on
  • The vehicle is in Drive
  • The vehicle speed is greater than 2 km/h (1.2 mph)

Its 100% possible to swap the front light. The question will be how in depth it’ll be. I’ve actually seen some Lightning specific part numbers already but everything I’ve tried to order gets cancelled lol.

Few questions that’ll need to be answered:
Is the wiring for it in the truck?
Will the entire grille on the Pro need to be swapped to an XLT or higher grille?
If the wiring isn’t there, what circuits can be tapped?
Forscan changes needed?

For the rear light, we’ll more than likely need to swap entire tailgates.

Even if the wiring isn't there, I'm sure you could tap into the harness. Not as plug and play, but it wouldn't be a difficult thing to do. It wouldn't be much different than some of HID retrofits, or DRL/driving light, emblem lights, and other add ons that are currently on the market.

For the rear light, we’ll more than likely need to swap entire tailgates.

Anyone from TX with a non-Pro model want to meet up? I'll set a date and time and I may need to cancel on you last minute. Advance apologies if you end up in an unfortunate scenario.

I found my solution for the front grille of my Pro(until an awesome aftermaket one comes out)! I played around with a pic to try to color match the front to the body. The black grille looks sooooo much better painted. IDK why ford didn't do this in the first place! I kinda like the two-tone. but will probably be trickier and mor expensive than just a splash of paint and clear.

Has anyone had luck getting further details on adding a lightbar to the pro model (part #'s, does it require other changes, ease of install)? I am thinking of adding this change to my list of enhancements (running boards, bed cover etc) when I take delivery in a few months but if its a pain or super pricey I will probably skip it.

For the rear light, you would need to swap the entire tailgate AND both taillight clusters, as they are different too. The taillights for the Lariat/Platinum are sculpted to fit snugly with the side tabs on the Lariat/Platinum tailgate. Since the Pro/XLT tailgate doesn't have those tabs, their taillights are just smooth. And since the taillights contain the BLIS (BLindspot Information System) sensors, they are NOT easy to swap out. They require specific tooling and programming.
