Hello,

am I the only one with persistent rust on the rear disc ? I don't have any issue with the front ones. I try to brake hard from time to time but it doesn't help. Last thing I did was to remove the wheel and pass a sandpaper on it with a drill. It did not last long. First video on the rear, second video on the front.

Surface rust is normal on all cars and won't effect braking performance.

The rust appears more readily in high humidity.

The truck uses blended braking, i.e. regeneration, then applying the brake pads at the end of the stop, if needed.

Fix:

1) On a road without someone behind you, accelerate to normal speed.
2) Shift to N.
3) Apply brakes, gently. No need to mash the pedal.
4) Shift to D, return to normal speed.
5) Repeat #2 - #4 until they're clean. Maybe 2 or 3 times and you're all set.

When washing the truck, or after driving in the rain, do this on your driveway to dry the pads and rotors.

It's normal, won't hurt anything, stop worrying about it.
