I don't know what the environment/layout is where you work, but my wife works in a place where she can't have her phone with her for security reasons. Not data security, just security in general - employees can't wear clothes with pockets, if you get what I mean.

That said, their locker room is outside the secure area, so once she gets there, she can start the Lightning before using the washroom, which gives it enough time to warm up. Even with today's -6C (21F) weather.

We have phone storage at the exits of the building, but only the very exit, or about halfway between my office and where I park.

In truth, I could have my phone at the same place a fob would work. However aside from the fumbling with getting a phone started (needs to be turned off in storage), I also much prefer to NOT use the work storage. I believe they have gone back to the all metal locking boxes again but they ping pong between lock boxes and open storage. Not exactly keen on leaving a $1000 phone out where about 1500 people enter or exit the building.

True story yesterday that saved my cousins Tesla Y.
We all know about the fires in LA, Pacific Palisades. Last week when the fires started my cousin was able to drive down the hill, but got stopped and had to abandon their Tesla and flee on foot..

I was in the Palisades as a volunteer with our PD. Called my cousin and checked up on their property. They told me where their vehicle was last parked. Sent me a code or pass that when I opened the pass, it turned my phone into a key to drive the vehicle. So at the end of my shift, I was able to start the car, drove it back to my home area, washed the car of all the ashes that collected over the week, and then met them back at our station where I dropped off their clean white Tesla and drove home in my Clean Grey Avalanche Flash lightning.

After working back to back 5am shifts, I was already sleeping when the group family text starting circulating about what I did.

My Flash doesn't have PAAK.

But for you with Larients and Platinum trim levels, could you have remotely sent a code to a friend or family member that could then start and drive their lightning?

That amazing technology put a smile on my cousins and their daughters face, especially after they opened the hatch to find their belongings they left behind.

Can and will Ford make this available to my Flash. Yes, I can remote start it, which was great with 37 degrees at 4:30 am on my way to the station these past 2 days.

But starting , unlocking is not the same as being able to drive it. Especially in the time of an emergency.

I know I can stash an expensive key fob in the car, and remote open the vehicle for my emergency contact. But can this be done without the use of leaving my fob in the truck?

Notice the burned out vehicles on the left side of the photo.

You can send them your door code and backup start code. It will enable them to drive it.
