I’m here to report that my first camping trip was an absolute success. The truck pulled my camper effortlessly.

My average speed was 60 mph on a 75 mile trip. I averaged 1.2kwh efficiency. My camper weighs roughly 7,000lbs and is 30 feet long. The total cost in electric was less than 10 dollars.

Being able to charge will you sit around the camp fire is priceless! As many of you have read, plenty of people and articles really talk down the towing of this truck. For me it’s absolutely perfect. If you’re going to travel the country camping, then no it’s not for until DC charging stations are more frequent. Overall I have absolutely no regrets with my purchase and I look forward to even more trips! Great job @Ford Motor Company

Congrats, looking forward to more positive & real challenges met, I made my scenario work with proper planning 200+ mile road trip along hilly New England highways, averaged ~1.1 m/kwh, needed 2 DCFC charges along the round trip route with minimal inconvenience.

Yeah even my 2,500lb smoker used about 1.3, I think even though we all speculated efficiency might be better with shorter and narrower loads, halving efficiency is the most realistic outcome.

my only issue was 50kw fast chargers. If I’d had 125kw ones available it would have barely been an inconvenience

I know right? But but but someone on YouTube said it was bad 🤣.
It’s just that nobody posts that their turn signal worked, that they secured stuff in the frunk and nothing happened, that their fpc works every time, etc. We get overwhelmed by the complaints and forget that the vehicle effortlessly does yeoman’s work daily.
Glad to see your post.

That's outstanding efficiency! I am not sure if I've ever gotten over 1.1 going 60+ on my trailer. My normal around going 65-70 is .8-.9. I've seen .7 when fighting a nasty headwind but nothing ever lower than that.

Looking at your dry tongue weight - the Lightning sure is nice having a higher payload than a ICE F-150, right? I have gotten so comfortable using most of the payload, I don't think I could go back camping with an ICE version.
