Has anyone seen this before? and if so why it would appear? It happened after I hit the stop button after my normal morning commute. I started the truck right away and stopped it and it popped up again.

I use PAAK and keep a Fob in a Faraday bag in my truck.

At that moment, the PAAK signal wasn't detected.

I've seen this show when I have used my password to start the truck while FOB & PAAK device were in the house far from the truck, once you initiate an unlock & run, but "accidently" shut down you have a very brief time frame to restart or you'll need to go through password again.

I think if you open the door she goes into lockdown again.

Is it possible you're getting a spontaneous update right now?
Is the phone getting a Fordpass update right then?

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

Thanks about the detail. The message was fairly clear, just odd it appeared now as it is the same exact process I go through every day. Only thing odd about today is the stupid snow storm! So as you said, it must just be something flaky with the phone connection for PAAK then.

I updated to 5.8.2 yesterday I believe, so not that.
Not sure if the truck would have been mid update or not. No way to really identify that from what I am aware of.

Yes this happens to me about once a month for reasons described above. When the truck can’t detect my phone very well I close the app on my phone and re open it. This usually helps. Especially just after an OTA software update on the truck.

Thanks. It's a bummer PAAK is a bit flaky. I'll keep putting up with it though because I cant bring myself to lugging around that comically massive key fob.

I get this occasionally also. I use PAAK exclusively. I get the can't detect key message once a week or so. The trick I've found is on FordPass, I just hit the unlock button and that immediately connects the truck to PAAK.

I've seen it a number of times, and it just means that no fob (or PAAK) is detected when the truck is shut off. It's a good feature as it gives you a brief chance to restart without having to go get the fob or mess around with your phone to figure out what happened to PAAK.

In my case, if my wife and I are going somewhere in her Lightning and she wants me to drive, I often don't have my fob with me. If she gets out and walks away before I do, I'll see the message.

I get the Restart Now message occasionally with no real reason. Paak is still not highly reliable. It is really frustrating when I walk up and the frunk doesn't open with the button because of the lack of key detection. Come on Ford it is nearly 2025,, you can get this fixed!

Unless I have just lost my mind, that was very infrequent my 1st year of ownership but the last year it has been a huge annoyance.
