Starting price is $27,500. They are factoring in the Fed Incentive of $7500 which likely won't be there in late 2026.

It's hilarious to me that you screen capped "under $20,000" and came here to correct me.
Do I believe their number? I don't. That's why I said, "if the price really is."

It's 2 years away. When it comes to pricing like this, I just roll my eyes now. 500 miles for 39k sound familiar. I'll believe it when I see them going out the door for that price.

As for utility. 1000lb towing is lower than some passenger cars and the range on the lower priced model is abysmal, throw in the cold months and you are going to have range anxiety even driving around town. The bigger battery is going to be almost a must, but then the price goes up too. I see the allure but too much compromise for me to ever consider it. I am interested to see what Ford does with its smaller EV's due around the same time. This thing might be Dead on arrival if Ford prices the T3 right.

Hey I wasn't trying to correct you. You were rightly questioning if it was really $20K so I provided more info to confirm your statement. At least they corrected the title of this thread.

Fair enough. Misunderstanding on both parts.

I expect inflation, tariffs, and all the other disruptions coming together will either cause the company to go under before it gets started or cause it to double its asking price. In a year if I’m not convinced it’s going to meet my needs, I’ll pull my reservation back.

this will be a win-win as an appealing 'order your own vehicle the way you want it' structure, giving the public the ability to add whatever options or layout they would like, including color(wrap), wheels, etc., and the ability to do away with 'technology' for the audio since, well, we all know how fast that changes...

I wish I still had my 8-track, but, alas, I guess just streaming from my phone into the vehicle's speakers will work, JUST AS WELL : ) I like it.

By the time this are starting to be produced and received, I will be an owner.

maybe 2.

The odds this thing ever makes it to production are slim. The odds it makes it to production at the price they quoted are slimmer. If they declare bankruptcy you won't get your deposit back. It's only $50 though. Cheap bet. I see the appeal.

One thing that would make this truck perfect is a battery pack design with appropriate safety standards that allows owner to replace modules with third party batteries with minimum specialized tools. Flexible enough to accommodate at least some new battery techs in future.

They claim you can go back after delivery to upgrade from the standard battery to the larger one. There must be some amount of improved accessibility to the battery than most other US-sold EVs. Not sure what the long-term implications would mean, but it's not nothing.

There may be a conflict between making it easier for DYI guys and make cheaper to manufacture. I can't wait to see if they have any innovations in pack and cooling system design to make it plug and play for an average Joe.

Definitely agree. It's a lot easier to build something cheaply if you don't need to repair/upgrade/update it easily.

Specs are not very good IMHO
20% to 80% charge under 30 minutes (so 29.5 minutes?)for a 52kWh battery and it is controlled by an app on your phone?-hard pass!

On the plus side, it is cool that it is very customizable-but that is where they probably get you!
