Smart hitch, app says not operational

Any idea on this, when I click in the ford app it says smart hitch not operational contact dealer. It also said it for the onboard scale but then it finally loaded correctly. Build date was back in May.

I have the same thing….my message says to call my dealer. I have a few pending PDI items that are outstanding…I plan to address it with them during that visit.

I noticed this, as well. I rarely tow so I’m not in a hurry to deal with it. I don’t even know what it is.

Same here, I believe they axed these options for people with later build dates because of chip shortages. Mostly curious if I actually have it on the truck in case I do need it.

I had a platinum for a day and I towed with it. I noticed weirdness with that and the scales. I just ignored and hooked up normally with cameras. I assume that platinum had all its chips so it may be a setup issue.

Could you share your production activity dates?

I have used the smart hitch, it worked great to adjust my weight distribution hitch. Also the scales work. Build week was May 9.

I have this same issue on FordPass; however, onboard scales work fine from the screen in the truck, and the smart hitch starts me through the process of setting it up when selected in the truck (although I can't do it yet as my trailer is at a different location). So I suspect that these items first have to be configured in the Truck before they can be accessed through FordPass.
